zeban
I've been using the 37 to get to Clapham Common everyday for work and it's driving me mad. Always so so busy and so takes forever for really what is a relatively short distance.I noticed the 345 goes there but I've never used it. Does anyone use this bus to get to Clapham Common? If so, what is it like? how often do the buses turn up and more importantly how long does it take to get there? Loz
Erm... the 345 doesn't go to ED. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18355-bus-345/#findComment-453630 Share on other sites
Medley
no, but it does go from Peckham. my experience is it takes an absolute age to grind its way to Clapham C.Get a bike/scooter. or would train P Rye to Clapham High St be any good? Sorry, Clapham geog not good.or P Rye to Clapham J from end of 2012 - not that that's particularly close in time! zeban
I know it goes to Peckham and Peckham is around the corner from ED! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18355-bus-345/#findComment-453639 Share on other sites
zeban
Thanks Medley. The Peckham Rye to Clapham High st train comes twice an hour so am screwed if I miss it! Peckham Rye to Clapham J will be better so might have to just hold on until then.Yeah have been considering getting a scooter but don't think I could afford it right now. Medley
Then get a pushbike! TfL cycling gives 20m on fast setting from ED station to CC tube. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18355-bus-345/#findComment-453644 Share on other sites
Bic Basher
If you can hold on until December 2012, the train service from Peckham Rye/Denmark Hill to Clapham High Street will increase to 4 trains per hour once London Overground take over from Southern. zeban
Thanks Bic Basher. That's a long way off though :-(.Medley. I can't ride a bike unfortunately, as embarassing as it is to admit. So that option's out as even if I did learn, which I do plan to one day, I'd be too nervous. aquarius moon
The 345 is no quicker getting to Clapham than the 37.I've tried both, but prefer the 37 because it is a nicer route. Medley
Good point ianr. Don't know in which bit of ED the OP lives, but is getting to HOP/FH an option? You can pick up trains to Clapham J from there too.And to the OP - you can get free bike lessons through Southwark Council. Buy a bike and give it a go. You'll be amazed how quickly you can learn if you stick at it. And TfL cycle maps can show you the quiet back roads to use if you're scared of traffic. ianr Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> > Thanks Medley.
