Is there any significant difference between the 4m+, 6m+, 9m+ and 12m+ spoons?? I don't really want to be wasting money on new spoons every couple of months unless necessary. Little one is 5 months and happy taking food from our stainless steel teaspoons but their size/shape is awkward for her mouth and I don't want to hurt/damage her gums esp. when she starts trying to feed herself.

Thanks!

i think the ones we have are tommee tippee - they are blue/red - the spoon bit is red and goes yellow if food is too hot - we got them at 4 months when we started trialling bits of baby rice/porridge/puree - she is now 15 months and still uses them occasionally for yoghurts etc with no problem. I'd say go with 4m - if spoon becomes too small you just start using normal teaspoons...
The early tommee tippee ones have a shallow spoon and long handle and so very easy to feed from. We've just progressed to the 9m ones which have a deeper spoon and short handle. Meant to be easier for her to hold (not so sure about this) If you're anything like us You'll go through a fair few so I'd start with the long handled ones and then buy the more advanced ones as and when.
