Hello, we are planning a move to ED. Wondering what it?s like for mums and toddlers during the week? Is there much going on? Is there a soft play place nearby? Is it easy to meet people and make friends? Any tips/advice would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi! There is lots going on, loads of classes and thing but no soft play. If you post on here looking for playfates once you?ve moved you should get lots of responses. There is no soft play though, nearest ones are pavkham pulse, Brixton Rec or a little soft play cafe in Herne Hill. Have a look on ED Tots for classes. Good luck with the move!

    • Cheques are still the safest way to send money to others if you want to make a 'thing' of it. At Christmas or birthdays a card with a cheque is the most effective present to distant god children or extended family, for instance when you don't know what they have or need - made out to the parent if you don't think they have an account yet. Of course you can use electronic transfer, often, to parents if you set it up, but that doesn't quite have the impact of a cheque in the post. So a cheque still has a use, I believe, even when you have very much reduced your cheque writing for other purposes.
