The New the Old and the Derelict. That's what I like -- a good bit of industrial dereliction. The world gets far too tidy.

this is one of so-called Plus or "+" rides which start at 9.30am and end at 1pm. This one starts near the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, next to the foot tunnel.

The provisional route goes via the Foot Tunnel to Island Gardens and then follows the Thames Path on the other side to Millwall Inner Dock. It crosses over to Canary Wharf, and riders will then walk over footbridge riding past offices, Trafalgar Road. Then the Underpass and CS3 to Bow Creek and Trinity Buoy Wharf. Up and over the A120. Dock Road and out onto Victoria Dock. Over Connaught Bridge and into Thames Barrier Park, meander through this. There is a cafe and loos so might be our coffee stop.

A long stretch around the Airport and back over Connaught Bridge heading towards Trinity Buoy Wharf. Stop this time to look around then on to West India Dock, back up through Canary Wharf and Mudchute Park to Greenwich foot tunnel. 16 miles and no hills. Amanda leading. The route may well differ in detail on the day. About a third of the route is a big circle around City Airport but the bomb seems to have been disposed of now unless they find some more.

I can't attach a pdf of the route because it's too big and EDF won't let me but you can find a copy here: https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/events/healthy-ride-to-trinity-buoy-wharf/. This series of ride is run by Bruce Lynn on behalf of Southwark Cyclists who are the borough branch of the London Cycling Campaign. We campaign for safer cycling in London but you don't have to campaign, join, or pay. Everything we do is free. We don't care where you live. Enjoy

    • Have you a more appropriate nomenclature for those predators?
    • The phone number seems to be that used by several  London boroughs for PayByPhone contact( though, probably incidentally,  different from the one give for phone bookings on the company's own website).  They also say, at https://support.paybyphone.com/hc/en-001/articles/11574881494545-Is-PayByPhone-free: "PayByPhoneParking rates are set by the parking operator and should match the cost of paying at a traditional meter. However, some locations may add a small service fee, typically less than $0.50 (USD) or £0.35 (GBP), which is determined by the parking authority." There's nothing on the signage pictured to imply  that the motorist is contracting with the council to pay any service fee for a stay up to 30 minutes.  I suggest someone asks a councillor, to check what Southwark have to say  and report back.
    • Not to be too gloomy but the SRA are pretty hopeless.  They seem to spend loads of resource hammering easy minor negligence cases relative to serious difficult cases like fraud.  The SRA is itself under investigation: https://legalservicesboard.org.uk/news/enforcement-action-begun-against-sra-following-axiom-ince-review
