lilaccruiser
I live near the junction with Crawthew Grove. There?s a regular, loud beeping noise which can occur at all times of the day and night. Anyone else been annoyed by it? Any idea how to stop it? I can?t find the source...... se22cat
Or you've been up playing Thimbleweed Park too late and The Signals are getting to you? lilaccruiser
Not my genre, I?m afraid. I have been playing a lot of Parliament-Funkadelic though. George Clinton likes a sound effect. Maybe his beeps have connected together and created a funky beep loop in my frontal lobe. I shall go to the grave pursued by rhythmic electronic noises. Huggers
the pedestrian crossing? lol Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/181024-beeping-in-crystal-palace-road/#findComment-1215827 Share on other sites
lilaccruiser
The idea of an invisible pelican crossing with just the beeps has an appeal. Definitely cheaper to install than the standard one with all those tedious traffic lights and buttons. And certainly less of an eyesore. Might be a bit dangerous for the pedestrians. But hey, you can?t have everything. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/181024-beeping-in-crystal-palace-road/#findComment-1215840 Share on other sites
breadcrum45
Is there a fox deterrent near where you are? Have a look in the gardens as these bleep at high frequency. We had to turn our neighbours one off and they are none the wiser. Different Frequencies effects different people of different ages. ruffers
We had this a while back. A neighbour's newly acquired car had an oversensitive alarm which chirped almost every time a large vehicle went past and shook it, as we live on a night bus route this meant all night. Once you've noticed it it's hard to ignore...I spent a slightly strange half an hour on the street waiting for buses to come past and working out where it came from! Susan
Yes it has been driving me mad since early December lilac cruiser. I eventually identified it as a neighbours car and told them nearly two weeks ago. It seems to have stopped since about Thursday so hopefully they have had it fixed. Its a sensor in cars that can be triggered by very cold weather - thus it going off at 2-5am!!! JohnL
Remember when birds used to imitate Nokia phones (before they went out of fashion)Just wait until they initiate car alarms. lilaccruiser
Susan, thanks very much. Glad to know that I'm not going mad. I will DM you for more info if that's ok. It was going at 10pm last night and I think I heard it a few times over the weekend. It is driving me nuts too. JeanieB
The owner of the car put an apologetic note through our door yesterday. Car booked in for further diagnostic tests ...but not until 19 February!
