Short term let required March - July (ideally)

Hi EDF,

I'm looking for a short-term let on behalf of a friend who has his own home in Devon. He has a contract in London working for a TV production company.

He has had short-term contracts in the past and rented in Bellenden, Nunhead and North London. He's keen to stay South for this stint, March 17 to July 15. He would also consider a shorter term, if that's what's available.

Ideally, he's looking for a room with an en-suite, a studio or a one-bed.

He is a mature, reliable, responsible and considerate tenant. His interests include politics, current affairs, art and architecture. Socially he enjoys film, music and sampling the array of eateries in the Peckham and ED area. His only flaw (as I see it) is he's a passionate Spurs supporter!

His budget is up to a max of ?950 pcm inclusive. Clearly, if you have a one-bed, I imagine you'd be looking for a higher rental, however, if the trade-off is a tenant who will respect and care for your property, it may be a trade-off you'd be willing to make in the short term and have your property looked after whilst you are away.

I own my place in North Dulwich and would be happy to act as a guarantor...you'd be welcome to visit me in my home to discuss things further.

References from the people he rented from in Bellenden and Nunhead would also be available.

Do get in touch by PM if you have something that may be of interest.

    • I am  ill in bed with Covid. It's not that I "can't be bothered" to read things. I am feeling crap and don't have the energy at the moment. I am not "brushing stuff aside and pleading ignorance." I am truthfully saying when I don't presently know enough about something to comment. I have always been very careful to differentiate between fact and opinion in my posts, and I am not clear what your point is. And I am certainly not trying to wind anybody up. This is a forum. If you don't want to respond to my posts, that's up to you. I'm not sure why you feel the need to announce it.
    • @NewWave I know how you feel. Like you, I've lived and spent prolonged periods of time in some pretty crazy places and always thought I could handle a bunch of kids. But, no - they got to me and I was shaking like a leaf afterwards. That's what age does to us.  But I did engage with them, so bear that in mind.  My advice would be to never let anything like that stop you doing the things you love. I'm certainly not going to stop using the park, there's no way they get to take away our cherished spaces!  If you see them, just change tack and keep out of their way. My dog won't even go that way again, so that's that problem solved. (If I see them again, I'm going to keep taking photos from a safe distance).
