I haven't seen any of you for months due to having school run commitments, but might come along next week if you're meeting (with my big kids in tow too). From September both of my older children will be at school full time so it will be easier for me to meet up with Kate. Hard to believe my winter baby is 6 months old today!

A sheepish mail to let you know if you're TV watching tonight, I have the grand total of one line that I filmed whilst secretly pregnant with Jonah, in a BBC1 drama, Bert and Dickie, at 8.30 pm tonight, about the 1948 Olympic rowing team success, with Matt Smith aka Doctor Who in the lead role. It's a good drama and you will need a very keen eye to spot me - about halfway through, in a scene set in the Olympic organisers office. I'm first in shot, and glamourously named Helper One. I imagine you have more chance of spotting my name in the end credits! For me it's a big toss up between watching that and Superstar on ITV, which I'm shamefully addicted to!

See some of you tomorrow for the Olympic torch event.

Hi Lindsay - Sounds great! Will try and spot you tonight if Jeanne lets us...it's a bit difficult to put her in bed at the moment, I think because she's teething but we never really know what's going on with these little ones... When and where are you meeting tomorrow for the olympic torch event... I won't have Jeanne tomorrow as she's at the nursery but was thinking of going anyway so I'd rather do it with you guys.

Ooh how exciting! I'll make sure I catch it on iplayer in the morning!

Shameless plug alert - if anyone is looking for child care from September I can recommend a great nanny with her own child (at Heber nursery in the mornings) who is available for 3-4 days and has experience of working nanny shares. PM me if you want any further info.

See you tomorrow at petitou Loren, look forward to seeing you - anyone else up for it?

X e

Hello,

Anyone up for meeting tomorrow? I haven't been able to make the last few weeks so have been missing out! We have allergy testing in the morning so I'm thinking any good distractions in the afternoon might help my grumpy baby get through the day...

Allo - we'll be along for a speed gossip before picking up Albster. Will be nearer three as J still asleep and very randomly I'm in the middle of making soup for Alb's tea. Never made any of any description before - cakes I understand, but soup?! Only explanation is chronic sleep deprivation induced weirdness! X

Hello,

As there is a new lot of Winter Babies due now, a few of us were thinking about moving on to a facebook group so that we can share details and photos etc as well as leaving the board with just one Winter Babies Club to minimise confusion.

So far we have done it through word of mouth when we meet up, but there are a number of people who came to the meet ups when pregnant but haven't been to any since and who may be following the thread. One of the best things about having the forum baby clubs is that they are open to all, and I wanted to let people who haven't been able to meet up know that there is still the opportunity to meet up even if the thread has gone quiet.

It can be found through this link https://www.facebook.com/groups/425802494124436/ or by searching for Winter Babies Club on facebook.

x Elli

    • They’ve overhauled the kitchen and I gather they have a new chef. Also, a new menu is on the way.   What with Norbert’s arriving soon on Melbourne Grove, there’s going to be an Interesting offer down there.
    • I watched this BBC expose on the news a week or so ago and wasn’t surprised at what they found although ii’s shocking when you see what the Police uncover. The amount of nail bars in London appearing almost daily is also cause for concern. What I can’t understand is the places that were raided had thousands and thousands of pounds of unpaid gas, electric etc bills.
    • GPs are general practitioners, hence the name; they are not specialists.  Specialist doctors only work in hospitals.  Each GP surgery has a catchment area; you cannot just choose a GP because you think they are the best match for your health condition, you have to be in their catchment.  If you are not happy with the one you are currently with, ring round the others nearby and find an alternative who is able to take you.  Then, work with your hospital clinic and the GP together to maintain your health. As an aside, I have a chronic autoimmune condition and have had no problems with the shared care of my GP (The Gardens) and hospital consultant ( I am under Prof Heneghan).  I visit the clinic twice a year, they advise my GP of any changes and the GP does my prescriptions (which include a controlled drug) and my blood tests in between.  When there has been any queries about compatibility or suitability of a treatment, the GP contacts the team at Kings for advice.  The system works perfectly.   Good luck with your change of GP and give them any hospital letters when you sign up.  A GP along cannot manage your condition, so you will need to ask your hospital specialists to set up a new shared care agreement with your new GP (this has to be done this way; a GP cannot set that up).
