Why do you say that.. ?

Havn't seen / heard any uproar about the Beer Shop on East Dulwich Road 'Hop Burns & Black'

Seriously? I mean really seriously? It's called white stuff as it began as an apres-ski wear firm, started by two British lads working in Val D'Isere calling themselves "Boys from the White Stuff." Pretty sure if someone wanted to set up a shop selling, say, Goth clothing and called it "Black Stuff" nobody would give, ahem, a stuff. Your post took me back to the '80s when the Sun used to peddle rubbish about black coffee being banned in County Hall!

    • I would happily take the task on but sadly the council will keep the responsibility, which I'm fairly sure means within months of them actually putting any useful information up on the boards it will not be kept up to date and will eventually get vandalised and fall out of use. Wonder when it will actually have anything at all posted as it was mended last year after around 2 years of me (and James Barber supporting) to ask Charlie Smith and other councillors to have it repaired.
    • New refurb is excellent in many ways, nice layout except I don't like facing the free weight section when using the weight machines. All the equipment and spacing is well thought out. I think they should do more for senior citizens in terms of weekday classes and swim sessions but aside from that it's an excellent leisure centre and I'm really grateful it's on our doorstep.
    • I’ll add to the chorus of support for Niko. Very good service and thoroughly nice bloke. He installed our tap and fixed several old and leaking pipes. He was straight & upfront with us about the cost and great communication. Will definitely be using in the future. Highly recommended!
    • @NewWave that’s a good idea!! Someone cannot book well in advance to cancel regularly . They should monitor that.  Also I didn’t know you can book two weeks in advance. I was not aware of it. It’s even  more frustrating now because I used to book regularly without any problem a week  in advance and on the day. I regret it!  I shouldn’t have done it. Unfortunately no money back. I guess I can try the gym for some body weight training but don’t know how it works! Thank you for your feedback
