Had fantastic pedicure and manicure yesterday, lovely people, really enjoyed the pampering.

Does anyone know why they have temporarily closed down?

I had a text message on the 7 August cancelling my Saturday appointment "due to a health and safety assessment". Jasmine mentioned that they would be closed for a few weeks. Hopefully they will be open again soon!

They've been closed since all the riots happened ..... I hope they re-open and soon too, was hoping to book a manicure and pedicure for my birthday next week

They'd surely have done a health and safety assessment before they opened? Though I guess the Tesco Metro looting was pretty close to them and they probably couldn't have taken rioting into account :-S

yes I thought it was a bit irregular as it must be really disruptive for a new business. i didn't press further though, I was too busy working out where I was going to get as good a pedicure for the same price!

What a shame, they had gone to so much trouble making the salon nice, and must have spent a fortune.

At least one of them had left their job to start the business up, and they were building up a loyal clientele.

Really bad time to have to close.

The notice in their window states that they are temporarily closed. Other than that the premises look just the same, no damage and just as pristine as it was before.

If it's a health and safety issue, though, it must be something that they have to change or add to the premises or equipment, or an issue with staff training or something?

I wonder if the impetus came from them or from the council (or whoever oversees H&S issues in premises like this?)

It could be an insurance thing. You have to have full insurance cover to be a beauty therapist/nail technician.

Maye they didn't have it.

Hope they re open. Seems a shame that they have only just started up in business and they have had to close.

I hope it is the same team as they were really good and very pleasant. They did intend every month to have special reductions. When I got my pedicure/manicure done in June, they gave me a couple of quid off the price as I don't like nail varnish. I hope they get a beauty person in as well, that would be a bonus as long as the prices were reasonable.
