Hello,

I hope this is the right section to post. I am currently trying to do some crowdfunding for a nursing elective and just wondered if anybody here had experience of crowdfunding or asking for local businesses in Dulwich for donations?

Would really appreciate any advice and here is this link: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/amber-price

Thank You!

Have you looked at Turn2Us grants search? The website is: https://grants-search.turn2us.org.uk/

You can search for Grant-giving Trusts for individuals by using filters ie gender, location, age, health issues, professional etc.

Very simple to use, but might yield some potential funding opportunities.

Good luck!

Hi IlonaM, thank you so much for reaching out! I have tried Turn2Us and have had varying success with some grants - a lot of the time I have found that they don't support students, even though I am a student nurse who received a bursary and not a student loan (the whole system changed recently) which means I don't receive very much money for my training compared to student loan receivers but, in terms of grants applications, I am still seen as a student - hope that makes sense! I'll keep trying though... Thanks for your advice!
It's worth going back to search regularly and think of the different filters which might apply to your situation & circumstances (think creatively!). From a search just now I came up with this one which you may have already come across, but if not ... - The Professionals Aid Council : http://pcac.org.uk/?page_id=106 - they do make grants to students if you meet the eligibility criteria. Also, what about the medical & nursing bodies - have they got any handy funds?

    • Another recommendation for Nick. Copying below the review I have just left for him on Google: We don’t usually leave reviews for people online but are making an exception for Nick. He made fitted wardrobes for our loft conversion and did an absolutely fantastic job. The wardrobes are beautiful. Nick is passionate about producing a quality product, and also one that is bespoke to his clients’ needs. He guided us through the design to establish how we would actually use the space and built something that is fantastic. From start to finish the process was quick and each day he and his assistant Sean left the space tidy. I’m not sure we are easy people to please so the fact we are leaving a 5* review (indeed leaving a review at all) speaks volumes about what a great job Nick (and Sean) did. Nick also built a cupboard for our downstairs bathroom as part of the job and again it is brilliant. We would recommend them to anybody.
    • Just had a flatpack IKEA wardrobe put together by the dynamic Father & Son team (Victor & Carl) and over the years they have come to the rescue with their quality workmanship and all round great people to work with. https://www.handymaneastdulwich.co.uk Thank you once again.
