The EDT was Indeed packed. So much so that they run out of glasses and only had Plastic ones..

I left early and went for a Curry in Memsaab.

I'm absorbed by The Crown at the mo!

Until it started buffering constantly on Boxing Day night ....

Back to normal last night though .....

The Ivy House was open for two hours on Christmas Day and was absolutely rammed :)

That's not nice to hear JohnL - you've had a pretty rough time - hope you're ok?

I suppose, if I'm completely honest - I love my family but the schedule - do this, then and this next and then this and this and this. ...I would love to just go away for Christmas and New Year - just away completely - and take everyone with me. A nice ten star hotel on an island somewhere hot (but not too hot, my nan won't like it). The pressure to make sure everyone is happy is unbelievable. It's like we all have a schedule to follow and can't just do our own thing. My sister cooks for around 15 people and does so well, I would love her to just chill. Maybe I should hire a chef one year, and waiters.

I do - however - absolutely LOVE the week between Christmas and New Years Eve. It's as if time stops and anything goes.

Can't quite get my head around the fact I've got a 9am meeting with the boss tomorrow. but he's super fab, maybe we'll get coffee and it will be ok

Happy 2018 everyone... and you Natty xx

That's appalling and you should definitely report it both to the White Horse manager and to other appropriate people/organisations.

You should not have to "just put up with it".

    • A quick Google search found this service in Devon including several large print books and a home delivery service for those that can't get to a library.  Might be worth a look if you haven't already considered this.  Good luck.   https://discover.librariesunlimited.org.uk/our-services
    • Visited Dynamic Wines over the weekend. Great place, and good value!
    • Bit over-stated that.  Fully-paved front drives cause same/worse issues.  The hermetically-sealed, boundary-to-boundary hard surfaces you see all over Dulwich prevent natural rainwater from continuing to nourish the dirt/clay under the house.  Houses around ED have very very shallow foundations which is the root cause, frankly.  I just spent a year renovating a house down to the foundations and they barely exist and the brickwork is easily disturbed by any ground movement. Last time I checked, humans can't breathe their foundations can they?  But most humans require oxygen...  This foundations trope is the go-to bogey man.  Defo not having a go at you Dave, I'm sure you'd prefer more trees to fewer trees, but short-term vs long term decisions must be made.  Choices: Do we want a fully-paved, grey, barren landscape or greenery with all the health & beauty benefits?
    • Hi Sue - yes they are, just checked their website and they've received recent recommendations on here
