My husband's taken our littlest daughter (17 months) to Australia to say goodbye to his rapidly worsening father who only has days/weeks left.

I was quite sanguine about it all when I dropped them at the airport. Yey, only one daughter for a week, virtual freedom!

But....I miss them loads!! I'm such a sook.

Our oldest (4 in a fortnight) is the same, she misses them both loads.

I know they are only away from a week, but it feels like I've left my right arm behind somewhere.

I need to regain my composure clearly :)

Much love your way (and your hubby's for that matter).

I enjoyed hearing the word 'sook' as you don't hear it much in the UK. And yes, you are a sook, but you're entitled to be. You must now go and watch family videos and make yourself weep....in for a penny, in for a pound I say....x

Oh, sad circumstances for them to be away, sorry to hear that :(

Try to make the most of the time you have with your big girl, she will love having Mummy to herself for a week, and they'll be back before you know it.

"sook"... love it, a very common word in NZ but I don't think I've ever heard anyone use it here!

P x

You're not the only one you know, I've noticed a significant increase in moping from the lovesick mocklet!!

Anyway, chin up old girl, I was exactly the same when I was on holiday last week, spent the last 3 days of 5 in the big apple whinging to missus mockers about how much i missed the wee boy.

Awww thanks guys. Now I'm not sure I'll have time to think about them this weekend (yeah right!). Eldest Madam has me on a strict programme of cupcake and cookie making, princess movies, an ED (and surrounds) playground crawl - and then if I'm not on my knees by then, an extended visit to Scoop!

I'm not sure who is leading who astray here :)

There will be some happy kids at nursery on Monday with all the baked goods being crafted :)) Little mocklet included??

If it makes you feel better, I went out yesterday morning, with the in-laws babysitting - Bugglet (now 8.5mths) was on her morning nap and so would find them there when she woke and I was so nervous... I got round the corner and was already on the phone to hubbie saying I felt like I'd had a limb amputated and felt a bit choked :-$ (especially daft as I've had no problems her asleep with babysitters several times!).

Needless to say, I got home to find out she'd slept for nearly twice as long as she has done any other day this week, and wasn't bothered by my absence until my return!
