Looking for a swimming club?

Recommended Posts

We have spaces for swimmers at our friendly ASA swimming club for children and adults. We run two sessions a week which are coached by experienced qualified ex competitive swimmers who give their time for free:

Thursdays at Dulwich College pool, 8:00pm-9:00pm

These sessions are fantastic for teens and adults (although strong younger swimmers, year 6 and above are very welcome). Thursday swimmers need to be able to swim at least two lengths (50m) comfortably.

Sundays at Alleyn?s School pool, 11:50am-12:50pm

These family sessions are for all swimmers aged 7+. Be prepared for lessons in all four strokes/ diving and turns over widths and lengths to build stamina and technique. There are fun team relays to finish.

Come and swim with your child/teen, or watch on the side while they do the work! The emphasis is on enjoyment, fitness and technique. This is not a competitive club.

It?s pay as you go, just ?5 on Thursdays and ?3 for the Sunday session, with an annual membership of ?25 for kids (under 18 and students not in full time employment) and ?50 for adults.

Please PM us for a first session.

Thanks for your interest. There are still some spaces available - drop us a message at [email protected]. It's a very friendly club, and a great way to improve your swimming without having to compete. Sessions will start again early in the new year. Let us know if you are interested, or if you have any questions.

My daughter (11) also swims there - both sessions - Thursday evening and Sunday morning. I agree, its a very friendly and fun club and while it isn?t competitive like some, the coaching is excellent as well as effective and also very enjoyable. Instead of endless lengths, training is also incorporated into fun relays and games (there are, obviously also lengths too!). There are all sorts of levels of swimmers and so no one would feel left out. The improvement in my daughter?s swimming (and fitness) has also been considerable, within a short space of time. She loves it and can?t wait for the next session. I reckon it?s one of the best kept secrets in Dulwich!

Thank you SusanLMBrown and dulwichbloke. Delighted that your daughters get so much out of the club.

We still have some space on Thursdays 8-9pm at Dulwich College sports centre. This is suitable for adults and (pre-)teens who are comfortable swimming a couple of lengths at a time. ?5 a session drop in, with an annual membership fee of ?25 under-18s, ?50 adults. Email us at [email protected] to sign up for a trial session.

Excellent coaching for excellent value - and a great way of relieving exam/work stress!

    • I'd be interested if anyone else has this as well. Up at Crystal Palace you now have to pay with the RingGo app. It should be free for an hour. I'm on Android and it comes up as free. My wife has an iPhone and it costs 20p every time. Same app, same location, same vehicle, same time. Obviously it's impossible to contact anyone about it and isn't worth the time for 20p but it makes no sense.
    • These two animals rode past me on Lordship Lane, at high speed on the path, all in black on black bikes. I next saw them inside Sainsbury's riding their bikes up the aisles laughing before taking off towards the park. Their intent was clear. My wife tried to excuse them saying that they are probably being pressured by criminal gangs but it looked to me like they were enjoying themselves too much
    • I’ve got all that! it’s just making you pay for free parking that is free if you pay by phone which then charges you! I put in the free time limit. It still charged me
