I've had a TERRIBLE time with dodgy builders and unreliable tradesmen recently, that it is refreshing to be able to recommend someone for a change. Peter the Painter - on 07728 824 195 - did a brilliant job on my house over the last few weeks and I'm very happy to send around his details if anyone is looking for a good, reliable painter!!

  Hi, does anyone know anything about the generator that seems to run from 7am every day in the car park of Dominic Court off The Gardens? I live in a property that backs on to that car park and it’s incredibly noisy and fumey. It’s been there for a long time now and it looks like it’s powering a site office for construction workers. Does anyone have any information about how long it will be there for, and who is operating it? I worry about the quality of the air as it’s like having a truck running constantly. And it’s very annoying to have it rumbling all day.

  Most charity shops will take rags for textile recycling. I’ve also donated to Christopher’s, Shelter on LL and Scope in Camberwell. The only one I’ve known to refuse is the Oxfam in Herne Hill.
