Cleaner needed, must have Public Liability insurance!

Hello,

We are a small block and are looking for a thorough, reliable person to clean the communal areas of our building every week or fortnight, just a couple of hours per session. We?ve had a company for years but never really been happy. We would love to find someone thorough, with common sense. It largely includes sweeping, mopping the stairwell and general tidying of leaves, keeping it all looking clean and well kept. It?s not Buckingham Palace, but even so it could look smarter than it does at present and it is a much loved home. Nice friendly block. Also involves occasionally changing bulbs to our communal lighting. But we do need someone with PL insurance, sadly. We?d be really grateful to hear from anyone who might be interested. If you are, maybe you could drop me a PM? Many thanks.

    • The Oxfam shop refusal may be because they have very limited storage space at the back of their very small shop?
    • I agree. The staff are always lovely!
    • Hi, does anyone know anything about the generator that seems to run from 7am every day in the car park of Dominic Court off The Gardens? I live in a property that backs on to that car park and it’s incredibly noisy and fumey. It’s been there for a long time now and it looks like it’s powering a site office for construction workers. Does anyone have any information about how long it will be there for, and who is operating it? I worry about the quality of the air as it’s like having a truck running constantly. And it’s very annoying to have it rumbling all day.
    • Most charity shops will take rags for textile recycling. I’ve also donated to Christopher’s, Shelter on LL and Scope in Camberwell. The only one I’ve known to refuse is the Oxfam in Herne Hill.
