hi, Ive just seen a leaflet about a baby and toddler group at the Grove Vale library on Tue mornings. I am thinking of trying it tomorrow with my 8-month-old but wonder if anyone has been and if it is any good? what do they do? it is such a small place that I cant actually picture a group of toddlers running around there.

thanks!

Hi there,

Me and my 8 month old actually went last Tuesday. There are lots of toys all around the room, and when we were there (around 11am) there were about 10 other children there. Most were toddlers, and I quickly realised I am seriously not ready to deal with toddlers just yet! So me and the little one actually left early because I'm a little lame. But, there were a wide variety of toys to play with, and people seemed friendly.

On Monday mornings, they have song and rhyme for about half an hour, which my little one absolutely loved - it's a little more structured and he loves to sing/dance/shake a rattle around :)

    • I know. Now the weather has been better for a few days, that whole area has been well used by people sitting out in the grass and just enjoying the peace and views- mainly young people too! Now all that will be lost for the rest of the summer as the grass does not recover until autumn.
    • The year of Councillor Naima Ali's tenure as Southwark Mayor comes to a close on Saturday. Her energy and enthusiasm have made her a popular local figure and she has been dubbed the Hugging Mayor and sometimes the Dancing Mayor.
