Short term let required Mid Dec - end Jan

Hi EDF,

I'm looking for a short-term let on behalf of a friend who has his own home in Devon. He has a contract in London working for a TV production company.

He has had short-term contracts in the past and rented in Bellenden and also North London. He's keen to stay South for this stint, mid Dec to the end of January.

Ideally, he's looking for a room with an en-suite, a studio or a one-bed.

He is a mature, reliable, responsible and considerate tenant. His interests include politics, current affairs, art and architecture. Socially he enjoys film, music and sampling the array of eateries in the Peckham and ED area. His only flaw (as I see it) is he's a passionate Spurs supporter!

His budget is up to a max of ?950 pcm inclusive. Clearly, if you have a one-bed, I imagine you would be looking for a higher rental, however, if the trade-off is a tenant who will respect and care for your property, it may be a trade-off you'd be willing to make in the short term and have your property looked after over the winter and Xmas period?

I own my place in North Dulwich and would be happy to act as a guarantor...you'd be welcome to visit me in my home to discuss things further.

References from the person he rented from in Bellenden would also be available.

Do get in touch by PM if you have something that may be of interest.

    • Southwark have decided to no longer supply or support the use of the smaller blue boxes for recycling  https://www.southwark.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/recycling/your-recycling-containers Fot those of you that currently use a blue box, it will be removed and a large blue bin will replace it. A lot of people use the blue boxes to avoid cluttering their gardens or the street so whilst I understand their health and safety reason, it's going to potentially lead to more clutter on bin day or more bins left on streets as there is no room in properties.
    • That would be a reasonable attitude as regards the management, but my experience is that the posties are doing the best they can but are woefully understaffed (there's no cover for sickness or leave, and some walks have no regular postie assigned) and, despite denials, packages are prioritised over letter post. Posties can only physically carry parcels to far fewer addresses than letters, which means even on existing walks they don't take letters out wit them if they are carrying parcels. Because they cannot walk to the DO (in Peckham) they have to drive there and back, with two or 3 walks worth in each van. Making covering another postie's  walk that much more difficult.
