Midwife-Led Antenatal Classes New Year/ Spring babies

Recommended Posts

Are you interested in antenatal classes? Want to feel fully informed, confident and prepared for labour and caring for your newborn baby? Do you want to get to know a group of other parents to be who are at the exact stage of pregnancy as you in the area? Come and join The Group!

Vicky, Emily and Rachel run the group for FIRST TIME PARENTS. They are experienced, practicing midwives offering antenatal classes in The Lordship pub, EAST DULWICH, Half Moon Pub, HERNE HILL and The Signal pub, FOREST HILL. Their classes cover everything you need to know about labour and life with a newborn baby. The Group think it is really important for new parents to build a local support network with other new parents so we make lots of time for the group to bond over the 6 weeks of classes, social events and weekend classes.

Midwife and mum of two Rachel also runs a fantastic half day REFRESHER COURSE for second-time parents. Over brunch you can discuss plans for your next birth and how it may be different, preparing your older child and juggling life with a new baby.

If you are interested in private HYPNOBIRTHING Classes have a look at our 1:1 sessions that we offer in your home. We will teach you relaxation and self hypnosis skills to prepare women and their birth partners for the birth of their baby as well as aromatherapy and massage for labour and much more... http://www.thegroupantenatal.co.uk/hypnobirthing/

We also host the POSITIVE BIRTH MOVEMENT meet ups in Spinach on Lordship Lane. These are completely free for you to attend as a pregnant lady or new mum. It gives you a chance to meet the women and fill yourself with positivity around birth! We meet the first friday of every month 10am-12pm. • I agree... perhaps you could also write to our local councillors to point these things out. Never know they might actually reply! Thanks for your help speaking to Monica. She may hopefully have useful contacts re obtaining a key. Completely agree - what's on (which could include some small businesses  such as Theatre Peckham, which I think may be a charity or at least community not for profit? And school fairs type thing..) plus anything the community would find useful, such as free events for the elderly (LinkAge are active in ED and surrounding areas) and lots more.
    • Thanks that’s all really useful.
    • Looks like they have massive issues with numbers of visitors too... “People have literally just arrived and are refusing to leave. Chaos. They booked out all the lane spaces but let people in. Absolute sh*t show.” https://www.the-londoner.co.uk/were-police-called-to-brockwell-lido/
    • I agree that someone somewhere must at one point decided on their purpose, however if anything was ever written down it is probably long lost, given the turnover of councillors and council staff . The Crofton Park noticeboards I mentioned above are solely for information about the council  and various community groups and activities, plus  various community related things such as the library times and services.  I think they are very bright, interesting and inviting, however I am not going back there solely in order to take a photo The ones in East Dulwich don't have much on them because ... well, for the reasons on this thread 🤣 Quite apart from the fact that these are supposed to be community notice boards, there are all sorts of reasons why they should not be used for private businesses to advertise, as I and others have already said. Yes there have been huge changes in the area, but I can't see how those changes affect the purpose of community noticeboards, unless you think that the changes mean that there is no longer a "community" in East Dulwich. Which would be very sad indeed. Anyway, I am stepping away from this thread now, I have other things to do 🙄
