Am on maternity leave, have moved from ed and my office has also moved, to Holborn. Trying to figure out how on earth to get to/from work when I return and hope forumites might be able to help.

Will be going by train to london bridge, arriving just before 8am, and leaving holborn around 3.45pm.

Tfl says the 521 bus from london bridge takes 19 mins to get to holborn, but I mistrust their estimates!

Any tips/experiences would be appreciated, thanks.

I use the 521 from Lon Bridge when not cycling. The journey time of 20 mins is accurate, traffic pending. Have you considered cycling? I started last year and haven't looked back. My journey time from Therapia Road to St Pauls is roughly 30 mins. Beat that On any tfl route.... Work out, avoid the crush and save money at the same time....

You'd probably want to allow at least 30 minutes to be safe - since there's no guarantee a bus will show up as soon as you get to the stop - let alone make the 19 minute journey time. The Tube is quickest but horrible to try to get on at London Bridge in rush hour.

If cycling the whole way is too nervewracking initially, you could try a Boris bike? Or, on a nice day, walking along the river? Probably wouldn't take that much longer than the bus journey and be infinitely more pleasant.

slightly different idea - but if you're near-ish denmark hill or peckham rye, you could hop on the direct train (10mis?) to blackfriars and walk. that's what i do - it's a lovely walk from blackfriars, through fleet st and lincoln's inn fields.
