This easy-paced backstreets ride starts from the Pavilion Cafe in Dulwich Park at 10am on Saturday and lasts two hours. The quiet uiet route takes in five large parks plus looking in on the Herne Hill Velodrome.

There are some slopes but they are gentle uphills only ? no big climbs. From the Pavilion Caf? there's a long downward run to Peckham Rye Park and down Rye Lane past the start location in Peckham Square. The ride continues down the Canal Path to Burgess Park and across the park to the New Church Rd exit.

From there it's a steady uphill climb via Camberwell Grove but not to the very top you will be glad to know. There's an alley across to Willow Walk, past Denmark Hill Station and into Ruskin Park. Round the low side of Ruskin Park and along Milkwood Rd to Herne Hill Station. Walk though the underpass and across into Brockwell Park.

If time permits there will be a quick burn up the hill (optional), then an exit to Rosendale Rd and round to Herne Hill Velodrome. Watch the action for a few minutes then ride the short flat hop back to Dulwich Park.

This is a 10 mile circuit. The map at http://goo.gl/maps/hFFNL shows a Peckham start but it's the same ride just starting from a different point on the circuit this time. This ride is organised by Southwark cyclists who are the borough branch of the London Cycling Campaign which tries to get safer roads for cycling and more people cycling on them. Everything we do is free, everyone is welcome and you don't have to be a member or live in Southwark to do it.
