binkylilyput
I think I need an osteopath (or chiropractor? I don't know!) - localised pain in lower back, began about a month ago. Fluctuating pain when sitting/ standing. I did get some relief from massage but pain continues.Any advice/ local recommendations? Sue
Daniel at Dulwich Chiropractic in Crystal Palace Road.I don't know whether he works Saturdays though, but I'm pretty sure he does some late evenings.http://www.dulwichchiropractic.co.uk/I very highly recommend him, and he has other recommendations on here.ETA: Silly question, but have you been to your GP? It may not be an issue for a chiropractor/osteopath. Daniel would tell you if not, of course, but you'd have to pay for the initial consultation ....... lietoswim
Have you considered Alexander Technique? It's not a treatment, but it educates you to prevent back pain and gives you tools to alleviate pain. I am a local Alexander Technique teacher, message me if you would like more information. beansprout
I can highly recommend Daniel - been using him for years and he is worth his weight in gold...Initial consultation I think is around ?40.... He will always try his best to fit people in and I believe he has now taken on an assistant.Good luck Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/168654-local-osteopath-for-saturday/#findComment-1179809 Share on other sites
binkylilyput
Thanks for recommendations and advice from people who have posted and PMd me. I hadn't considered GP as it takes a while to get an appointment at my surgery- I also don't want to be put on a waiting list!I have only had this problem for a few weeks and normally have a very healthy, non achey back so I'm hoping it is something that can be resolved easily and I'm willing to pay.As a longer term preventative measure I may well consider the Alexander Technique- will also PM you Kathy as I have some questions for you!
