Hey folks

Since moving to the area I have a definite lack of people to go watch the footie with. I have ESPN so will catch those games at my place but don't have Sky Sports.

It would be nice to meet some like-minded United fans that enjoy meeting up to watch the game. Is there any other girls/guys around that catch up each match?

Thanks!

Charlotte :)

Yes it is truly sad how the populations of quaint Scottish villages have to move down to the big smoke to find work on the offices.

Their only solace to gather together around television sets and remember the old country with tearful ballads about past glories.

Tugs me strings it does.

A little stereotypical I feel.

My entire family on my Dad's side are Mancunians supporting United and have done for I can't even tell you how long. I know it was my Grandfather that got me into the sport when I was only young and I have followed it ever since.

My loyalties lie with United because of my heritage and because of my love and understanding of the game.

Your comment would prove otherwise and although I am well aware there are many 'glory' supporters out there - have we not come far enough in recent years to realise that there are glory supporters with many other clubs these days - Chelsea since they won the prem and even City since they came into the money. I think the badge that us United supporters get is a bit old hat nowadays and people need to just realise that perhaps we just love football????

Hey! Welcome Charlotte! Me and another forumite (she may pop by later) REGULARLY (:-$) go to the Vale to watch the Man U games. Staff are not the friendliest, but we have our regular seats there LOL with a good view to a pretty large screen. Good selection of drinks too. The last match we saw there was against Newcastle on Tuesday (Saturday we went to Wembley for the Manchester Derby FA Cup Semi-final). Unfortunately I shall be watching the Everton match from a pub in Chipping Norton, but you are welcome to join us in future (feel free to PM).

GLORY GLORY MAN. UNITED...

Hey!

If it is Jenayr you are talking about then I have just been chatting with her. She said you were away this weekend so I think it is just me and her on Saturday. Definitely up for the Schalke game on Tuesday though if you are back in time?

Look forward to it! :)-D

Yes! It is Jenayr!!! That's right, I am away this weekend, but will be back for the Tuesday game at the Vale LOL. My life virtually revolves around United's games LOL - much to my hubby's despair! But YES, my diary for the 26th states "Schalke game" - again at the Vale. And then it's Arsenal on the 1st of May (Vale!)...so lots to look forward to. Can't wait!

WHO THE FUC IS MAN. UNITED...

I HAVE to ask, are you the Charlotte who used to play for a certain University? Blonde? Eye-liner?

Oy! create your own thread!

Only joking! Actually, I remember Denis Law very well...you must be well old! Of course, he was the better player when playing for the classier Red Devils rather than for those urchins the Citizens!

*legs it*

    • Hi everyone, we are trying to finslise our decision for enrolling our son for 3+ from September and currently considering Dulwich Prep or Herne Hill. We like both and appreciate there is no right or wrong answer but what we like about HH is great focus on early years and also being coed. However if we can avoid the 7+ stress then prefer to do that. Dulwich Prep is closer but the difference is not significant. we know children are very active and busy in DP and they have great facilities, but unlike HH, we don’t know much about their focus on personal development and emotional intelligence, etc! Also not sure about long-term impact of being in boys only school. Difficult decision for us and we appreciate feedback from parents if you can share please.    thank you
    • Yeah that was their old policy. Their new policy is to force you to have a water meter and if you refuse they put you on a punitively high tariff which effectively forces you to have one. I was doing well with my policy of polite resistance which was to say yes fine I'll have one fitted but then not actually book an appointment or cancel the appointments they made. But then I was persuaded that it would be much cheaper anyway.
    • Lots of lovely lilac shrubs in flower at the moment. Would anyone consider giving me a cutting? It would involve digging out a basal off shoot, roots and all. I'd love one for my new garden but I'm so broke that I have to fill it with plants the slow way!
    • You are welcome to have mine for free. I was just about to post! Three panels - 6ft by 5ft - weathered/natural on one side and painted brown on the other.
