Huguenot
Glaziers is gonna be White Stuff.Close to opening shop is boutique kitchenware.Police station closure is still not confirmed - it's under a review over the next three years. I trust whoever gets it will raze it to the ground before buidling something more attractive ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/168-whats-it-going-to-be/#findComment-2410 Share on other sites

Jeremy
There are still a couple of shops on LL which are empty / borderline derelict. The one next to the butchers springs to mind... Muttley
The one next to the butchers has been empty for decades. Used to be a dress shop or something, I believe the woman who ran it is still upstairs. A touch of the Miss Havershams, perhaps. capt_birdseye
It got a nice new lick of paint at the time the butchers opened. Paid for by the butchers themselves I would guess. batdog
capt_birdseye,That place is now in need of much more than a "lick", a full proper "service" will do. (tu) especially to the passersby eyes. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/168-whats-it-going-to-be/#findComment-2487 Share on other sites
OutOfFocus
I think maps and photos would help. I wandered down LL yesterday and the following shops look empty.http://www2.black1.org.uk/local/ give you a map with photos if you click on the markers. Just a bit of Google maps and Flickr intergration with a small smattering of AJAX. TJS
Hey Jeremy, I enjoy the occasional scour of the Southwark planning database - All you need do is type in the road name you are interested in, and all the planning applications since 2000 are there.http://194.168.41.26/cgi-bin/acolnetcgi.exe?ACTION=UNWRAP&RIPSESSION=%7B%5B%2A%211D1A020B050304731D3C3D31617C041E28361620222F34223B7660001036350A0C1E372B316B730B033D3916212F332D271F3D26253A2821217660001429241D2A3220262C022E2D2E273B2A2A62142026222720102F33292A271B01797F797F7C646A77617C057E7B606075%21%2A%5D%7DAlso to help you identify the exact location of the planning request, use this website - handy to picture which building they are talking about: http://213.86.249.173/planaccessgui/southwark.html Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/168-whats-it-going-to-be/#findComment-2599 Share on other sites
all_star
Andrew - that is cool - nice work.Does the brick-fronted office complex next to the Sea Cow count as empty? Doesn't seem to be in use at present. Not sure of my building numbers but could it be the site for this proposed new Spa? Planning Information for Application Number 06-AP-2479 Location: 79 Lordship Lane, London, SE22 8EP Proposal: Change of use of vacant building, previously retail into a beauty salon/spa. Nero
Hello, could 79 be the old William Hill, near to Tandoori Nights? And while we are on the subject, what about the old sportswear shop near to Tandoori Nights too? Guest
The yellow bricked building next to the Sea Cow is still owned by Woolworths plc, although it has not been a Woolworths store since the mid 1970's. It was most recently leased to the social security department as housing and benefits office of some description, and is now being leased to a private business who's name escapes me! Jeremy
Hmmm... yes, it definitely looks occupied to me. You can see books and stationary by the windows. Really, of course, it should make room for a nice little cinema. Guest
On the subject of planing permission, have you seen an application has gone in on the garden centre next to the train station (20-22 Grove Vale), more flats... It got rejected but the applicant is now appealing the decision. Nero
Dear J, I asked the bloke at the counter about this, and he said it wasn't going to be flats. That was about 3 weeks ago. BTW, if you want plants, go to the London Wildlife garden off Oglander Rd where you can get lots of native plants for just a pound or 2.
