EmmaDoran
Does anyone know what the shortest route to Mother Goose Nursery, Green Dale is from East Dulwich station? We've been trying to work out the quickest route but Google maps seems to think it's located on Camberwell Grove for some reason... kristymac1
Our daughter goes to MG Greendale and from East Dulwich station cut through the Sainsbirys carpark and to the right of the cash machines there's a set of steps, go up these and follow them to the left and you'll come out in the middle of the estate. Turn left then right, past the pub and turn left, you're at the nursery. Takes about 10mins max from ED station xx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/16758-directions-to-mother-goose-green-dale/#findComment-427606 Share on other sites
ryedalema
Or.....;-)Go out of ED station. Turn left into St Francis Road....all the way to the end and nip up (turning right) Abbotswood for about 20 metres. At mini roundabout take left exit past playing fields (this is the start of the foot path). Follow the path with playing fields on your right (about a 4 min walk). When foot path comes to a t-junction, turn right onto Greendale (watch out for fast moving cyclists!!)Go up hill - you really can't miss Mother Goose Greendale on your right - the noise will hit you before you see the brightly coloured equipment! EmmaDoran
Yep - that is a very nifty little shortcut! Was quite a nice walk too - felt like being in the country :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/16758-directions-to-mother-goose-green-dale/#findComment-427823 Share on other sites
minder
Greendale is like being in the country really! It's one of the undiscovered but well known (to us who grew up there) pieces of London. I remember running up and down the bumps and hills and around in the fields from the early 70's.I can't not mention the Greendale Pub (which is now the Oribu spot or something) which me and my sisters and friends used to be part of.My Dad played for the dart team and went on all the summer beanos. We children used to stand outside when they left on the coaches shouting "throw out your mouldees" (money). We used to collect weeks worth of pocket money on one Sunday alone! Cora
And for those looking for Bessemer Grange, it's pretty much the same route... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/16758-directions-to-mother-goose-green-dale/#findComment-428082 Share on other sites
