i am planning a homebirth with brierley and am due in 4 weeks now (eek!) and trying to decide whether to use their birthing pool or buy one of those blow-up pool in a box ones.

in my head i have it that the brierley one is bigger and with hard sides so might not be as comfortable as a blow up one....

anyone have any opinions or better still a photo of it?

cheers!

I used it 6 months ago!

I have nothing to compare it too unfortunately but I did find it comfortable, it is hard sided but has padding on the rim which is covered by the liner, It is very roomy, and the bottom has a padded layer, I do have a picture but will have to search hubbies PC for it!

I used it - although had to go into hospital in the end so we didn't end up with a water baby!

It was brilliant I thought - good height for hanging onto during a contraction and set up easily.

Thoughtful husband popped some old cushions and towels underneath it before filling it so it was more comfy to kneel in.

Top tip - make sure you have some hair tie things nearby - when I asked husband if he could please fetch me my butterfly clip as my damp hair was driving me mad he was obviously a bit flustered bless him, as he returned with a cycling helmet saying 'Will this help?'

erm ....

    • I am sorry to  continue this, but I found your previous  comment about me very personal,  disturbing and upsetting, which was why I responded at length. I'm sorry it bored you. I try to stick to facts. I have investigated. You (and anyone else) can go into the "search" settings on here and  do a search on an author's name. So you can (I presume) find all my posts, including any which were  replying  to you. I can't imagine that they are in greater numbers than my replies to anyone else, but you can see for yourself. I guess you can probably also find examples of what you call my "usual sarcasm". I wasn't aware that l had a tendency to sarcasm, though I do find a lot of things funny.  There is no need to reply to this unless you actually find evidence in support of what you said. Sorry everybody else. I had to get it off my chest as I was lying awake last night worrying about it 😭
