Venue for 5th birthday party (in June)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

I know thread has been done to death but would appreciate some ideas and recommendations.

Up till now we have had all of my daughter's birthday parties at our house. I love to bake so cake and so on are not a problem and there's quite a bit of space so they can run around. The house gets trashed of course.

Anyway she will be 5 in June and having started school has lots of new friends to invite. I would like to host her party somewhere that provides suitable entertainment for 4-6 year olds. Catering would also be a good thing although I would like to provide the cake and possibly party bags and so on.

I know Gambados is a good option but any other ideas? She turns 5 in June so hopefully the weather will be nice. I would imagine a minimum of 15 guests.

If you are prepared to travel Coram Fields (Kings Park) is amazing - went to a party there which was great - loads for children to do, you get a room with a small kitchen (for about ?70 to hire) ... my daugther loved it as there was so much to do and play on

    • Southwark have decided to no longer supply or support the use of the smaller blue boxes for recycling  https://www.southwark.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/recycling/your-recycling-containers Fot those of you that currently use a blue box, it will be removed and a large blue bin will replace it. A lot of people use the blue boxes to avoid cluttering their gardens or the street so whilst I understand their health and safety reason, it's going to potentially lead to more clutter on bin day or more bins left on streets as there is no room in properties.
    • That would be a reasonable attitude as regards the management, but my experience is that the posties are doing the best they can but are woefully understaffed (there's no cover for sickness or leave, and some walks have no regular postie assigned) and, despite denials, packages are prioritised over letter post. Posties can only physically carry parcels to far fewer addresses than letters, which means even on existing walks they don't take letters out wit them if they are carrying parcels. Because they cannot walk to the DO (in Peckham) they have to drive there and back, with two or 3 walks worth in each van. Making covering another postie's  walk that much more difficult.
