Just to let you know that it will be a walkabout organised by Southwark Council on Thursday 9th at 3.30pm to let them know what it need to be done at the area. Here is the email from the council's Unit Manager for Community Wardens.

It would be wonderful if you can join!

It was really great to meet you all at the residents meeting where we discussed concerns over safety and asb in and around the vicinity of Greendale.

As agreed, we are inviting you to a general walkabout of the area so that we can look at ways in which we can improve the area and reduce fears of safety and incidents of ASB.

To confirm other actions that have been taken since the meeting:

- CCTV signage will be put up in the walkway and along Greendale week beginning 23rd October

- Agreement that Southwark Grounds maintenance will cut back the path leading to Greendale ? work is ongoing to confirm ownership of the land for future maintenance.

- Request to TFL to erect signage at Greendale to advice cyclists not to speed down Greendale and to be mindful of other people using the path.

- Lighting survey has been requested.

We look forward to meeting you on site on Thurs 9 Nov at 15:30, exact location TBC.

    • Great idea! Yes, I think the SE22 curry club died a death. The restaurants were all much of a muchness at the time anyway, apart from Ganapati. Nyge and I were also recently  discussing whether people would be interested if we restarted  the Forum Drinks. They used to be fun, but I think the main organiser moved out of the area, as did some others,  and nobody else was very keen on taking it on.  Unless they are still happening covertly 🤣 If memory serves they were monthly, and in a different pub each time. It was good to be able to meet people in real life who post on the forum. I might start a separate thread at some point to see if anyone would be interested.
    • Really?! No wonder they still had so many left when we passed! What were they? How much did they want for them?! That seems an extremely strange way of enticing people into a new shop!
    • I saw my GP at The Gardens on Wednesday, had blood tests yesterday at Tessa Jowell (not the surgery, the blood testing place)  and had a text from my GP surgery this afternoon with the results. Your experience sounds appalling.
    • Yes, The Gardens is excellent and often recommended on here!
