I'm looking for some advice about where to go for a few days of relaxation + B&B/hotel suggestions.

I will be travelling on my own + I'm finding it difficult to not pay over the odds for single accommodation. I just want to go somewhere warm (not hot) to relax + read books. My husband doesn't get much time off work and we're having a 'big' holiday to Africa in August.

So, I'm looking for peace + quiet, somewhere cheap + cheerful in Europe and a B&B with a balcony, nice views just for 4-5 days any time from now - early June.

I'm completely open to suggestions. Can you help?

Thanks

Hi, there. Lake Garda in early summer is lovely. Not sure if this fits your budget, but Crystal Lakes & Mountains do all inclusive packages to various resorts around the lake. We stayed at the Hotel Castell in Limone last year and had a great time. The rooms are a bit basic, but all have balconies with the most spectacular views of the lake and surrounding area. http://www.crystalsummer.co.uk/destinations/italy/limone/025029/025029.html

    • Yes, it would be great to see them nationalised. Along with the other water companies they seem to have a great business model: -submit a 5 year plan to the regulator asking for yearly price increases to cover the cost of improving the infrastructure and get them to approve it - carry on paying handsome dividends to shareholders and eye watering salaries to senior executives  - fail to achieve the infrastructure targets at the end of the five years, make some excuses and draw up the next plan Magic!
    • Avoid KFH. Agree with other comments that it is best to talk to lots of people.  Also, (not particularly related to the above agent), I wish I had read the reviews a lot more, rather than relying on numbers.  Depending on whether you are renting, letting, selling or buying the reviews often differ a lot depending on the relationship you have with the agent and it is worth checking whether the good/bad reviews match your situation.
