Peckham Rye Sings community choir on Mondays - new term

Peckham Rye Sings is a fun and friendly community choir based in Peckham and led by local choir leader Xenia Davis.

Our new term starts on Monday 4th September and runs up to Christmas. Anyone is welcome to join, at any point in the term.

We meet on Monday evenings from 7.30-9pm at the Copleston Centre, Copleston Road, SE15 4AN. We sing beautiful a cappella folk, gospel and world music songs in 3 and 4 part harmony. All songs are taught by ear.

We were founded in June 2015 and we?ve grown to around 45 members.

Everyone is welcome to come and sing with Peckham Rye Sings, whether your singing is limited to the shower or you belt out ballads on the London Overground. There is no need to read music, and you don?t need to audition.

Your first session is 100% free! After that it?s ?7 waged/ ?5 concessions per week. If ?5 ever feels out of range, come along anyway and pay what you can, or don?t pay. Money should never be a reason for not singing!

Come along every week, or just come once or twice a term, whatever works for you. No need to commit to every week ? we get that people have busy schedules!

We usually do 1-2 performances per term. We?ve sung at the Southbank Centre, at local community Wassailing events, at the launch event of Peckham Citizens, at local community festivals, Sing For Water, and we?ve flash mobbed the London Overground. We took part in Singing For Unity events in London over in 2016. Performing is totally optional though, it?s fun, but not everyone?s cup of tea, so if you?re not into performing, that?s totally fine.

'How do I join?', you ask! Just come along on a Monday evening at 7.30. We don?t have auditions, and there are no limits to how many people can join per part.
