Rosetta
Looking for suggestions on how to make inexpensive phone calls to Australia - to both landline and mobiles. They would be from a UK landline, with Plusnet. I currently use 18185 to call the United States inexpensively, but their prices for Australian mobiles are more than 8 pence a minute. Loz
I use Skype. Very reasonable rates and you can buy calling plans if you phone a lot. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/165379-calls-to-australia/#findComment-1171055 Share on other sites
rendelharris
Skype or Facetime free computer to computer, or even mobile to mobile provided both users have unlimited data allowance. Rosetta
I know about Skype and FaceTime. But this is to a technophobe who usually has a mobile only with them. Loz
You can use Skype to ring mobiles/landlines. But, as I said, there is a charge. You can either buy a monthly plan or buy credit and use it as you like.https://secure.skype.com/en/calling-rates?expo365=empty Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/165379-calls-to-australia/#findComment-1171224 Share on other sites
MirandaS
I call Oz everyday to speak to family. For those with an iPhone I use FaceTime vocal, for other I use Whatapps and Viber- both apps and no extra cost. However the person you are calling also needs the apps and you need 3/4g or WIFI. Otherwise speak to your phone line provider about packages.
