I have a friend who is looking to move to SE London & is going to see somewhere on Choumert Road or Square - I don't know which nor do I know the area.

is anyone from the area... what's it like to actually live there? she is young & comes from a slightly rarefied rural community... any advice? thoughts? comments about the neightbourhood?

your help is appreaciated!

Choumert is ok. Mr Saff and I looked at a rental in that area last year, but it was too small a space for the money they were asking. In general the area is fine, culturally diverse, plenty of shops/transport etc in walking distance. Tell your friend not to take the first play they see. Have a look in surrounding areas too.

    • Hi I am looking to join some local businesses networking events and wondering if anyone can recommend any. I know there used to be one (Cooking with Scissors) but that’s not running any more. Thanks.
    • Eats Dulwich has just reviewed Arapina, including its hot chocolate!  I assume they read the original first and  very long post on this thread before almost all of it was removed. Interesting to have another opinion!
    • I see you have just reviewed Arapina's  hot chocolate 🤣
    • HA! If only . . . The other night I took the 37 from Herne Hill to Goose Green, only it was diverted via Denmark Hill. That would have been ok, except when the driver reached the junction for Denmark Hill she wasn't allowed to turn right as there were road works on Dog Kennel Hill starting at 8pm and all buses were being diverted via Camberwell Church St and Rye Lane.  I got off there at Kings College Hospital, as I figured it was closer to home than Peckham . . .  Still good for my step count I suppose.
