Can I also recommend Andy for handyman things and decorating. I have used him about 6 times for various jobs to the extent I asked his to renovate a BTL property I have in East London. He, together with an apprentice completed everything (replaced bathroom suite, full redecoration of the inside and outside of the house, bring back to life the kitchen and strip back the garden which all had been vandalised by the previous tenants). He completed the project in the time he said he would and the finish was of a high standard and was even positively commented about by the letting agent. I will be using Andy for any future work that I need doing.

Think I should add here that I have been ripped off by builders in the past (one to the extent of a £50k) so am very cautious about hiring a new builder/decorator and definitely would not recommend one if I was not 100% about their honesty and reliability.

Also adding a recommendation here for Andy (who I found here on this forum). He and Taylor decorated and replaced the floor in our living room (laminate replaced with LVT). Andy was really helpful in giving us suggestions beforehand, like what to prepare to make their job as efficient as possible, ideas of different styles for trims and features to help us make final decisions, and recommended places to source some of the materials we needed. Really happy we got them in - they were efficient and polite and we felt comfortable having them having them in our home. They finished in good time and we're so happy in the newly updated space! Thanks Andy.

Hi, I can thoroughly recommend Andy, who did a small handyman job for me regarding some curtain rail issue. He was very competitively priced, and was totally reliable in  coming over when he said (sometimes a rarity!).
Thanks a lot for a great job done!

Highly recommend Andy and his helper. They installed IKEA PAX wardrobes for us. I appreciated their care, attention and questions both moving through our freshly painted house and when assembling the wardrobe. Highly recommended and will be in touch again with more jobs!

Another recommendation for Andy Jacob/Andyman!

I’ve been using Andy for a couple of years now, and he’s been very reliable and helpful with a range of maintenance issues and improvements across two flats in Honor Oak. He checks meticulously what jobs need to be done before coming to ensure he has the right tools with him. His work is always of high quality, and he’s great at finding practical solutions to any problem.

I can highly recommend Andy who came over and replaced a mortice lock in my home. It was more complicated than it need be, as standard sizes have changed since it was first put in, but Andy did a very professional job at a very reasonable rate. Can recommend Andy to anyone!

Andy is an absolute gem! Incredibly kind, polite, and always reliable, he’s my go-to for any jobs - I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. Recently, I had some leaking external pipes that I was quite worried about. Andy came over promptly, assessed the issue, and fixed it efficiently, putting my mind at ease.

It’s rare to find someone so dependable and skilled who also genuinely cares about doing a great job. I highly recommend Andy to anyone in need of a trustworthy and professional handyman. Thank you, Andy, for your fantastic work!

    • Where to begin? I'm middle class and am quite happy for them to be used for information about voluntary/not for profit/non commercial events, they should not be used as a means of free advertising for businesses, small or otherwise, they are just not large enough.  Commjnity groups do not have the money to advertise to increase awareness of the services they offer. The examples you have given which you would like to see them used for may reflect your own priorities but the community of East Dulwich reflects a much wider range of interests and requirements. The  notice boards were introduced in 2011 when East Dulwich had already gentrified and their purpose discussed in the EDF thread announcing their arrival.
    • The notice boards are a reasonable size, surely there should be room for both types of leaflets, after all we are meant to be a community? Unless space is extremely limited, it feels a little divisive for a councillor to say private businesses cannot post. All businesses are important for the lifeblood of a community too, aren't they?
    • Hilarious. Yes, they have magic wands and can make the last 14yrs of public asset stripping disappear overnight 🙄
    • Hi if anyone has one pm me cheers
