Another recommendation for Andy and Richard. They just did some work to sort out a leak in my shower - sealing and tile work. They turned up immediately, were clear about the problem and what could and couldn't be done, came back first thing and got the job done efficiently, tidied up and were friendly and professional. Just what you need. I certainly plan to use them again.

I'd like to add a further recommendation. Andy and his team came in and sorted out my horribly mouldy bathroom ceiling in double quick time. They turned up when they said they would and kept me informed all along the way about costs of materials and timescale. Lovely stuff!

We would also like to recommend Andy and Richard (Andyman Services 07564194363). We found them through this forum as well.

A&R undertook general decorating and handyman work (painting, hanging kitchen cabinets, installing cooker & extractor, fitting new lights, hanging blinds, removing old flooring, installing shower etc) refurbishing our 2 bed flat. No job was too big or too small. Andy even fixed a broken window after he heard the price we got quoted from a local window firm!

Their work was very reasonably priced and they couldn't do enough for you. Very trustworthy and they gave us suggestions/advice that saved us a lot of money and even reduced the final quote for us. Can't say that about many work men.

Another great thing was that you could feel you could just leave it to them to get on with it and when we had other trades coming in, they coordinated with them so we didn't need to be around!

Final bonus was that they left the place clean and tidy so that we had no cleaning to do before carpets were installed.

Pleasure to deal with!!

Do you have a team of people each specialising in the different skills?

Because I've had a bellyful of individuals who claim they can "do this" and "do that" and then make a total mess of it (6)

Just wanted to add a further recommendation for Andy and Richard (Andyman) who came to reseal our bath and shower. They provided a quote within an hour and carried out the work the next day.

They were professional, trustworthy, very reasonable and informative.

We would definitely use them again.

Another recommendation for Andy, Richard and Taylor who have worked so hard to decorate a very tired old room that was in great need of decoration.

Great work, good people and really helpful.

Will be using them again soon if they could possibly put up with it !!

Thank you Gentlemen............

One more recommendation for Andy and his team who cleared my guttering and fixed a loose gutter. Andy, Richard and Taylor obviously very professional in their attitude and did extra things for me (cleared moss attached to my glass kitchen roof, provided a clip for free) willingly. Quote very reasonable indeed. Would definitely use them again for other jobs.

We recently moved into a new house which needed some painting done in the living room, kitchen and main bedroom. We had a very tight timeframe to have the painting completed and Andy and his team really came through for us.

The painting was done within a week and Andy and his team were really friendly, trustworthy and courteous. Pricing was competitive (we had a few quotes) and all receipts, left over paint etc. were provided and accounted for. Andy was happy to came in to do a touch up once we had moved in. I definitely recommend him and his team for painting. He also installed a new light fixture and removed another one - both of which look great.

Another (slightly belated) recommendation for Andy - he came at short notice to look at some problems in our bathroom and gave us some practical advice about diagnosing the issues further before he would recommend any work. No unnecessary work, and he didn't charge us for the visit or the advice. We will definitely use him in future.

Just adding a further recommendation for Andy. He came in at very short notice and worked round the clock to tile my kitchen in a short space of time, so that it would be ready for all my furniture moving in. He offers a friendly and upfront service and will keep receipts for any materials used. I can't recommend him enough and will definitely call Andy again if I need any work doing.

I can recommend Andyman, who did various jobs on Saturday. He put up a CD rack and a big picture, some shelves, filled various holes in the walls, hung a vegetable basket from the ceiling in the kitchen and resealed the bath. He was clear about what the options were and the results might be regarding the bath.

He posts on here as Spoiltdog. His number is 07564194363.

I'd like to recommend Andyman too. Andy and Richard had to hang 4 new glazed doors in my Victorian home. Challenge was obvious as all the openings were slightly different sizes. They did a great job hanging and painting the doors. They look fab. I got them to do a couple of extra pieces of work - floating shelf; new doors to what was an open shelf unit and replacing an extractor fan. At the end of each day Andy and Richard made sure the place was clean and tidy. They're coming back again to put up some bathroom cabinets and in the Spring to do some external work. Can't recommend them enough.

Andy's number is 07564194363.

    • The voters in these redwall seats all complain of a broken Britain etc etc - yet see no connection between the  country voting tory for 14 years and those towns voting for Brexit despite being warned it would lead to problems - they just moan about everything - often quite correctly (services are expensive or being cut, roads are a state, housing is expensive etc etc) but when you ask them when things were better.. well the answer is either    a) under a labour government when we part of the EU or b) some fictional Facebook sepia tinted picture of Britain "when you could leave your front door open, we didn't know how lucky we were" Voters say they want the truth but when someone sane (if dull and sometimes wrong) gets into power and says "lads, things are worse than we realised" they bleat about a lack of instant fixes and say it's wrong to keep blaming the last government (despite the lie about Labour crashing the economy in 2008 STILL being a stick labour get beaten with in 2025) as for rejoining the EU - the barriers are immense - you have a press and a large portion of teh population that will behave just abysmally. You have an electorate that recognises the mistake but is all very English and "made out beds, mustn't grumble" etc etc - no backbone. And you have an opposition party (or two) that is plain bonkers and when labour do lose power they would renege/reverse any progress made in matters EU in seconds Meanwhile EU countries can see all this clearly and have no incentive to engage until this country grows up and is able to demonstrate they won't act hysterically when reintegration starts
    • This is an extract from an edition with Dave Walker, mediator extraordinaire, born at the Elephant & Castle and still living in Southwark. One of his great achievements is training young people to be peer mediators ... who even step in to work with disputing adults! Just shows what can be achieved and who can achieve it. Pretty much anyone and everyone.  Next week we publish a special edition with Jo Berry who has very powerful story to tell. Further more, there was an invited audience of local people young and old, with whom she engaged in open discussion for an hour. Insights galore!
    • Yes, given the clear (and predictable) failure of Brexit, all the negative effects, and the overwhelming proportion of people agreeing that it has failed, I really can't understand why Labour have gone down the "making it work" road. But then I have no idea of what reversing some or all of it might involve. Also, Reform don't mention Brexit much, do they? If at all.  They push other aspects of what they say they stand for. So the people inclined to vote for them have probably completely forgotten they were ever associated with Brexit.
    • Latest news from the sunlit uplands, on the same day the UK economy 'unexpectedly' shrank 0.1%... As an aside, the cognitive dissonance shown by large parts of the UK electorate over Brexit is quite a thing to behold. I don't think it's controversial to say that Brexit is now considered by a large % of the population to have failed, with the % who see it as a success in single figures. Yet, initial polling for the upcoming Runcorn by-election shows Reform winning what is a relatively safe Labour seat. Now I get protest votes and all that, but Reform were literally the Brexit Party before the rebrand. If there's such a large consensus that Brexit failed, why would so many even consider voting for a party that actively helped deliver Brexit and all the known economic damage it would cause? And that's before you even get to the fantasy economics it presented at the last General Election. Labour haven't helped themselves either, by pursuing a nonsensical 'We can make Brexit work' approach, they have in effect made themselves impotent when it comes to attacking Reform and what they stand for...
