TillieTrotter
It's been a very long time since I've fallen about laughing at a thread. *Bob* I proposed to you many years ago and the offer still stands. Bloody hilarious. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/16455-blue-travellers-van-parked-in-our-street/page/8/#findComment-424604 Share on other sites
Huguenot
All things aside, CamperVanMan's a little too cocksure for me.I think he's lying. I don't know about what.He has the arrogance of a smug schoolboy who's stolen some Kola Kubes and knows you can't 'get' him because he's stuffed them down his trousers and will cry 'paedophile' if you challenge him.It wasn't 'my sister birthday' it was 'my little sister's birthday'. It's manipulative. He's trying to present himself as an angel. He's a bullshitter.Since he tried to manipulate you with the 'little' the rest of what he says is worthless. He's demonstrated a willingness and capacity to deceive. TillieTrotter
Might I just say that why didn't the lovely CVM take the initiative to knock on any of the neighbours doors to explain his situation and introduce himself. Just saying like......! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/16455-blue-travellers-van-parked-in-our-street/page/8/#findComment-424750 Share on other sites
missus
> I reckon assuming and labelling people who might> not want someone living permanently in a van> outside their own house as 'daily mail' types> sounds like raising beliefs to the status of> truths where in fact they are just opinions that's> all.>:D< You tell 'em quids! Also, has anybody who has become chums with TCVM asked him why he doesn't park nearer to/on the premises of his vehicle renting site in London Bridge?! It's a good half an hour/hour drive in rush hour and strikes me as illogical... Especially if he's got to do it every day?! Mazza6
This thread has amazed me firstly Ruby Shoes if I totally agree with where you are coming from but have you read 'The Lady In The Van' by Alan Bennett. As a child I remember passing this amazing house in Camden (the posh part - Gloucester Terrace) and couldn't work out why a dirty old van was parked in the drive with a scary old lady inside. Years later when 'The Lady In The Van' was in the West End I pieced everything together. Mum confirmed it was Alan Bennett's house. rubyshoes
@ Mazza6 - I will read it, I'm intrigued! Thanks for the tip, a fascinating story (see!!! I'm going to read Alan Bennett, NOT the Daily Mail guys! Check me!?) SimonM
Alan Bennett got a book and a West End play out of his charitable actions - a lesson to be learned here I think? :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/16455-blue-travellers-van-parked-in-our-street/page/8/#findComment-425073 Share on other sites
legalbeagle
The Lady in the Van was a beautifully written play. Tho Rubyshoes - Mr Bennett and you didn't exactly see eye to eye on this subject so you may not enjoy as much.... rubyshoes
@ Leaglebeagle: are you saying I won't be able to enjoy a beautifully written play? Shame you think so low of me. I love art & culture, I'm a creative person by trade, so I'm sure I'll love it. legalbeagle
Not at all - I've never met you so how on earth would I know that! I meant that his attitude to a person living in a van outside his house is not the same as yours has been on this thread. But I don't want to spoil the play by saying much more. I hope you do love it though. I saw it performed with Maggie Smith, it was just genius. rubyshoes
I am now totally intrigued, will let you know how I find it. And FYI, Legalbeagle, I didn't think I'd have to end up saying this, but my initial post stating my disgruntlement over TCVM, well, maybe I was 'over-amplifying' my opinion somewhat. I am not all that bad, actually quite easy-going & open-minded about most things. I'll let you know how the read goes, I'm really looking forward to it now!!!
