Right,

I have a few more pictures that may or may not be Dulwich. I believe pictures 2, 3, 4 & 7 are Peckham.

See what you think, and thanks in advance again !

The last one looks like it could be the corner of langton rise & Underhill road - looking back down Underhill. If it is then that house left of frame was being used to film Spooks - much inferior show about policing national security- a couple of weeks back.

And Camberwell old cementary backs onto that corner.

Just seen Simon M's post, looks like he agrees, then it is the same house they filmed Spooks, spooky.

And is that army types going into that house, cause when I walked past the Spooks set they had a load of gun toting secret military types running around that house's back garden, perhaps it was a homage.

ahh pre P.A.C.E. days,i bet all old coppers yearn for them.

Years ago there was a photo of John Thaw and Dennis Waterman in the Herne and I was told they filmed part of an episode in the pub. This was confirmed by one of the new owners who told me that a director or producer of the programme owned the Herne once.

Don't know if this was the same episode.

Looking on Virtual Earth, there is a building on the corner of Upland Rd / Underhill Rd that has a polygon shaped corner. Is that the one you think is in the screen grab ?

And just to clarify, Is Honor Oak Mansions at the junction of Underhill Road and Rydale ?

Thanks guys !

By the way, Regan, following on from your original post and screen grabs featuring the Dawson Heights estate, you might be interested to know a notorious fact about another drinking and womanising legend of the 1970s. In 1980, Bon Scott of AC/DC died on Overhill Road, on the other side of Dawson Heights, where he'd been left to sleep in a friend's car.

I thought it was the cemetary too.

I have a vague memory of one episode being filmed in Dulwich Park by the lake - the field opposite the cafe.Or was that another Police thing.

Mona Lisa was filmed in Dulwich. The crew hired the East Dulwich Community Centre for a few weeks as a base, and used Darrell and Crystal palace road as some of their location shots.

A Tango advert was filmed by the old boat kiosk in Dulwich park - not in the same league as Sweeney

Ok. Many thanks to all of you who helped me nail this location.

I went there yesterday and got all the pictures I needed at Dawson Heights and Honor Oak Mansions. Managed to park next to a hearse that was parked up in front of Honor Oak !!

Thanks again one and all !

    • Hi  We need to replace 3 fence panels in our garden that are damaged and I would like it to blend in with the rest of the fencing. So I am looking for something weathered. If you are taking out some fence panels and looking to dispose of them, please please let me know. I am happy to buy them!  Thanks 07903830384

    • @ ed pete "there still has to be the demand". I don't know but wondering if developers have been able to make a case based on the increase in demand from 2023-2024. The research I looked at said demand had risen by 500 in that period,  but was still below an all time high in 2022.   There will be others who know much more about this area who can give the rationale in favour; perhaps this latest govt. research is incorrect or only gives part of the story. My point is if, as seems likely, this development does little to solve the current housing crisis at local level for the non student population, I hope that the council is very, very sure that this level of student accommodation is warranted at this location. I have not managed to look at the plans in detail but how sustainable are the plans for the build; how will it be heated, what about impact on water and waste services?
    • There is also I believe some evidence that students are choosing to go to universities, where they do, closer to home so as to avoid additional costs by living at home. Personally I think this is a mistake - being an undergraduate is a first chance for independence - but if economics and costs are making this so the demand for accommodation such as this will again be weakened.
