Craft Beer Club For Mums

Hi everyone (moderators, I swear I tried to follow the posting guidelines),

I have just moved to the area (ish-SW16), I?m 30 years old, 33 weeks pregnant and I like good beer. Because I?m pregnant, I?ve been drinking alcohol free craft beers and exploring shops around the area.

I don?t have many friends here (I moved from the Netherlands not long ago), let alone friends who are pregnant or are mums. I tried to join some pregnancy and baby groups but I didn?t feel they were for me, I couldn?t really relate or connect to most people there and maybe I?m not alone.

Struggling to meet likeminded mums who enjoy decent beer, I created a page on facebook just for us. I hope to make friends and enjoy good a drink or two together from time to time, share tips on motherhood (first time mum here) judgment free.

Because I don?t have friends around, I?m not having a baby shower. Instead, I thought I could organise a get together/meet up with mums/mums to be at Art & Craft SW16 (2a Streatham High Road).

I?m open for suggestion on best date/time and even suggestions of bigger/better beer places.

Beer lovers, unite! Bring your prams, your slings and your bumps along (alcohol free craft beer is a thing!).

I hope to meet some of you soon :)

    • Have you asked the school admissions officer? I'd imagine ED more likely than ND...
    • Help! We need an ideally professional photographer willing to work free or low cost for a few hours in Santa's grotto at our school fair. We can offer publicity amongst school community and fair visitors in return and it's always a great fun event. Plus halo shining having helped us raise vital funds for our children! Please get in touch for more details or to arrange a chat with the photographer who helped previously (she's otherwise engaged on the date). THANK YOU!
    • Agree, plus always worth emailing local councillors if community police not helpful with offering advice and support.. tho my experience is community police are very understanding  How did you find out? Police info? Robbers on bikes and scooters is rife everywhere in London sadly. My advice to my son is keep off your phone, be aware of your surroundings, stay around people and well lit roads as much as possible, and if anyone asks for phone or money hand it over without a struggle. My friend's son was mugged outside Finsbury Park station and it terrified him, robber had a knife and said he knew where be lived. Scary stuff. Near my work in the west end phone theft is rife too. Especially now certain metals are more scarce I imagine there's a real market in phones being sold on. Stay safe everyone and let's keep to practical solutions as building police presence back up will take years, so productive ideas such as more CCTV etc emailed to Ellie our local MP I feel would be far more constructive than posting critical political comments here.
