Can anyone explain why the country and all the rest of the world are broke.

What happened to the Europe dream,of prosperity and lack of want.

All those G 8 summits, what was the point of them.

Why is it the only people to do all right are the leaders and euro m.ps.millionaires in abundance

Why are the banks getting bonuses.

They,ve fxxxxd up why are we having to go without,to pay for their mess.

We are not actually broke. You want broke, go to Bangladesh or Ethiopia, thats broke. We still live in a wealthy liberal democracy.

The financial issues that we have are more to do with economic policy than they are to do with wealth or the lack thereof.

We're not broke. But we have ended up in a lot of debt, partly because of banks lending and investing irresponsibly. And we're too reliant on the finance industry to leave it to sort out its own mess.

It does seem that the tory government have taken full advantage of the situation, to fit their ideology of small government and low public spending.

Regarding bonuses... I kind of understand the public outrage at the banks who were rescued by the govt, but as for the others who managed to sort out their own affairs... unless you're a shareholder, it ain't any of your business.

Bankers Bonuses..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..can we PLEASE stop this tiresome, ill thought out, daily mail outragey old toss ?

Every person who takes an active role in the economic system ( please note active & not passive) shoulders some of the blame.

You bought an Iphone or a stylish new car or some heavily marketed usless shite in the past decade ? then you as as much a part of the problem as the bankers.

Most people in this smug little middle class enclave called ED caned it whilst the going was good & touched themselves in an inappropriate manner when their house rose in value on a daily basis. So times are bad & you are struggling to keep young Ernesto in Alleyns or DUCKS. Booo fucking hoo.

So you cant afford a new feckin car this year, or have to think twice about getting the Ipad2? that not hardship, thats selfish shitehawk bleating.

    • Yes, it would be great to see them nationalised. Along with the other water companies they seem to have a great business model: -submit a 5 year plan to the regulator asking for yearly price increases to cover the cost of improving the infrastructure and get them to approve it - carry on paying handsome dividends to shareholders and eye watering salaries to senior executives  - fail to achieve the infrastructure targets at the end of the five years, make some excuses and draw up the next plan Magic!
    • Avoid KFH. Agree with other comments that it is best to talk to lots of people.  Also, (not particularly related to the above agent), I wish I had read the reviews a lot more, rather than relying on numbers.  Depending on whether you are renting, letting, selling or buying the reviews often differ a lot depending on the relationship you have with the agent and it is worth checking whether the good/bad reviews match your situation.
