He's in the grip of a heinous drug addiction which will probably result in his early death. Everything he says & does is part of that addiction.

Yes he's making a c-nut of himself, but I can't condemn him, though I don't pity him either as it's his life & he can do as he chooses.

Hopefully he'll burn out & seek help sometime soon.

That's a bit of a strange thing to say DJKQ. Having money does not make the battle with addiction any easier to beat. I would have thought the reverse would be true. Having the money to gain access to as many drugs as you could possibly ever consume would make the will-power needed to quit even more difficult to muster, regardless of the expert help available.

Addiction is a personal battle and although some treatments can be very helpful, the bottom line is that the addict must be mentally prepared to quit and live a life of abstinence. No amount of money can purchace this.

But money can buy treatment...and addicts who can't afford to buy drugs often steal to buy those drugs, or turn to dealing themselves/ prostitiution etc.

Have you seen the waiting lists for most mental health related treatments for those dependent on the NHS? And the rationing once a patient get's it? Charlie Sheen can get as much counselling and treatment as he needs at the drop of a hat. Of course the seriousness of the addition is no different for rich and poor alike and equally the person wanting to get better has to want to, but let's not pretend that money makes no difference to the level of help available and the chances for some people of getting better.

well I for one say top man!

With the airwaves clogged with the dull platitudes of even duller so-called 'personalities', I'll raise my hat to someone willing to use 'droopy-eyed armless children' as a simile in an interview.

Don't forget, he served in the Nam man, and the enemy was in him. The war is over for Charlie now, but it will always be there, the rest of his days.

Platoon and Wall Street. And bit-parts in Ferris Bueller and Being John Malkovich (Yo, Malkatraz!). That's pretty much all his output worth watching.

> So the guy likes to drink, snort and fcuk. What's wrong with that? Good luck to him.

It's more his history of beating up women which is the problem.

Platoon. Is that the one where he doesn?t surf? Or is that some other cockswinging army filim?

Anyway I followed a link from that quiz page and some of these outputs are pretty dam special. I wish I had said them. Maybe in a job interview or when I first met my in-laws:

"I'm tired of pretending like I'm not special. I'm tired of pretending like I'm not bitching, a total fricking rock star from Mars, and people can't figure me out, they can't process me. I don't expect them to. You can't process me with a normal brain,"

"I am on a drug, it's called 'Charlie Sheen'. It's not available because if you try it once, you will die. Your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body."

"Sorry my life is so much more bitchin' than yours. I planned it this way."

"Practice is for amateurs,"

Apart from some of the slightly odd statements (the magic fingers et al), I actually kind of respected alot of what he had to say.

Just because he isn't doing the usual trite nods to the moralising mainstream in the US, doesn't make him bad or mad. His just somewhat drug frazzled, but in Ozzy Osborne, that's considered charming.

I loved it whe he was asked if he was using and he said 'using what? I use a blender, I use a [n. other kitchen implement], using's such a bullshit AA term'. Top stuff.

The only thing wrong with Charlie's life is that he wasn't born an englishman where overdoing booze and experimenting in drugs is the norm (ish).

Well who to say MP, he will not end up that way and end up like a lot of Hollywood actors dead and as for Ozzy Osborne he totally fucked he find is hard to string two word together if that is not a poster advert for over excess what is;-)

I just don't have the constituion for it Ridgely, but I do find his attitude and refusal to be a role model refreshing.

Plus anyone choosing to be a little bit Sheen (or Ozzy for that matter) has a pretty good idea what lies at the of the journey. (but wadda ride!!)

Mind you, pops almost died doing Apolcalypse Now, I suspect there's a genetic aspect to the Sheen eccentricity.

    • Yes, it would be great to see them nationalised. Along with the other water companies they seem to have a great business model: -submit a 5 year plan to the regulator asking for yearly price increases to cover the cost of improving the infrastructure and get them to approve it - carry on paying handsome dividends to shareholders and eye watering salaries to senior executives  - fail to achieve the infrastructure targets at the end of the five years, make some excuses and draw up the next plan Magic!
    • Avoid KFH. Agree with other comments that it is best to talk to lots of people.  Also, (not particularly related to the above agent), I wish I had read the reviews a lot more, rather than relying on numbers.  Depending on whether you are renting, letting, selling or buying the reviews often differ a lot depending on the relationship you have with the agent and it is worth checking whether the good/bad reviews match your situation.
