Need to make this journey tomorrow.

I thought there used to be a train link direct (as part of Overground line).

If not, what service(s) are people frequently making this journey using please and what changes are required, if any ?

Nat Rail Enquiries gives me nothing PR -> Canary Wharf.

Yeah, a few people here getting confused between Canada Water and Canary Wharf..

There was never a direct link to Canary Wharf. Overground has always been PR, QRP, Surrey Quays, Canada Water, Rotherhite, etc. So you need to change at Canada Water, and it can get very busy. But still a better bet than London Bridge (the trains are screwed yet again)

Have you considered cycling? (ducks, covers head...)

"Have you considered cycling? (ducks, covers head...)"

It's a one-off and currently I don't have a bike that's servicable for this short-notice appt.

However longer-term, if there was some business to do there eventually, I probably wouldn't cycle because (apart from not having the bottle to cycle across London - driving is dangerous enough !) there'd be no provision for storing clothes and wet towels/showers (ducks, covers head...).

Overground to Canada Water for Jubilee line (one stop to Canary Wharf eastbound). 20-25 minutes tops from Peckham Rye in the rush hour - you may have a 5 minute change at Canada Water if it's really busy (around about 0800-0900)

If Jubilee has delays then stay on until Shadwell and change to the DLR.

Overground is therefore your weak link but it's very reliable in my experience (as are DLR and Jubilee line).

Interestingly (or not) I as once asked by a DLR guard if I was changing at Shadwell late one evening, and he advised me not to. I've changed without incident during rush hours though and never felt unsafe.

It's my daily trek. Overground from Peckham Rye (also stops at Denmark Hill on the way here) every 15mins to Canada Water (takes about 12 mins) and then down the escalator to the Jubilee Line and one stop to Canary Wharf.

Easy peasey.

The longest I've ever had to wait at Canada Water for a tube is ten mins and three trains, but that's rare.

    • The Council allowed The Co op rear customer car parking area to be built on and as a result, the roads around, had customers parking in their road. and the Councils answer to that is CPZ in the whole area. the residents of Ashbourne grove do not want CPZ, as they feel its just another stealth tax, and that the money is going into street maintenance, for which we already pay exorbitant High Rates. another income for life for the Council and will increase year on year like the garden waste bins and cycle bins.
