I'm happy to buy something in a cafe if I am in need of their facilities. I'd buy something in the pub as well.

There are local possibilities in addition to all the pubs: Sainsbury's, that undercover market thing (if it's still going), the cinema, Nero, the library, three lots in Dulwich Park (yet you still see men and boys peeing against trees), churches, St Barnabas village hall, DPG, Belair park, as well as some of the friendlier cafes.
