Just seen three guys walking down Crystal Palace Road after i assume coming out of the Actress Pub, one of whom was punching car wing mirrors. I was in my sitting room and heard shouting and a bang looked out to see them trying to hit mine too. Fortunately the guy punching them (tall skinny and wearing a red t-shirt and jeans) was so drunk he missed. I opened my window and shouted at them and by the time i'd put my trainers in they had gone.

Like i said i assume they had just come out of the Actress pub and will be asking for the cctv tomorrow morning from them. All three were white and the other two guys were older with a large overweight guy wearing a white top).

This has literally just happened 00:10 so i just thought i'd post as they probably continued down the round. If you have got a damaged wing mirror may i suggest contacting the police as in conjunction with the cctv perhap we can get these kind of people off our streets.

That's not so, police advice is to call 999 if a crime is in progress and an emergency response is required, as in this case it clearly would have been.

Police UK website: "You should call 999 if a crime is happening right now or there is a risk of serious damage to property." i.e. if you see some people in the act of doing hundreds of pounds' worth of damage to cars, call 999 and the police will put an emergency response in place. Thanks for the unnecessary rudeness and stupid implication though.

I know someone who ran out of their house a few weeks back so stop thieves stealing their car. The thieves ran them over twice and he is dead now. This was a big wake up call to me. I mention this because you put on your trainers to go out and confront them. And I get it. But it's just not worth it. Stay in your houses, call the police, stay safe.

It's a crime in progress - so technically can be 999.

    • Hello, I'm from Ireland and would love my children to be able to know the language - I can speak it but I'm not so good at teaching it. If there's anyone local who used to teach Irish at primary school (preferably Connemara Irish) and who'd like to tutor 3 boys aged 7-10 for an hour or two a week please do let me know. Thanks, Sarah
