Sally Eva
This is one of the longer Plus rides starting 9.30am from the Cutty Sark and returning for 1pm. Or you can be earlier still and meet Bruce at 9am sharp at Canada Water Library (contact Bruce, 07729 279 945 to confirm if you are doing this)and cycle down to the Cutty Sark with him.Otherwise it's one of the usual easy-paced ride on quiet roads and paths. It's part of Southwark Cyclists regular Saturday morning series of Healthy Rides suitable for anyone. Everyone is welcome, you don't need to live in Southwark, be a member of the London Cycling Campaign or pay anything at all. From the Cutty Sark the route goes through Greenwich Tunnel, through Millwall Park and past Millwall Dock. It joins the East Ferry Road and heads north to Royal Docks. Then through the leafy tree-lined roads of Beckton Park. Steve Redgrave Bridge to Woolwich Foot Tunnel or onto the Ferry if it's just coming into dock. The refreshment stop will be at the Cornerstone Cafe - Major Draper St, Royal Arsenal Heritage Site. From the Tor everyone will head back along the Thames path to the Greenwich Yacht Club, alongside the Ecology park and over the Blackwall foot/cycle bridge. This brings you to Meantime Brewery and back onto the Thames Path and to Cutty Sark. 16 miles, no hills (except the Tor). And the Tor is not very high.
