Passing there this morning, I notice that the "super" has been removed.

i donate loads and loads of really good children's stuff - as i am sure do many parents here in nappy valley - yet they never have much more for sale in the 'children's department' than three stained baby-grows.

anyone know why that is? the place should be coming down with boden!

That's a good point OliviaDee. You would have thought the chrity shops here would be awash with quality chidren's items. I've just had a clear out and have bags of excellent chidren's books that have been clogging my shelves which I plan to donate to the shop. I will post back if they're never seen again.

I believe that some charity shops have a policy that items from well supported shops can be redistributed to areas that are not which would answer your query.

just checked out that e-bay link.

so what exactly is the point of having local charity stores at all - if all they want to do is sell the crappier stuff (and it really is in St C's) to their actual customers and auction the better stuff on-line where they do not have to pay Lordship Lane overheads?

    • I also recommend Energie in Forest Hill. good value and a proper mix of ages and men and women. Pretty quiet after 10am as well. Its handy for 176 and 185 buses and if you have a car the car park behind Sainsbury's is free for two hours and free all day on Sunday. You'll need to have the PayByPhone app.
    • We used John Clements at LEAD, he practices at the Tessa Jowell centre. Jon and Charlie the speech & language therapist were both great. Highly recommended.
    • I passed Malabar Feast earlier today, and it said "Under New Management" . Apart from the soggy dosas, which I don't think should be on the delivery menu, I really hope they don't change the rest of the menu, or the chef/s,  because it is our go to (bad choice of words) delivery place of choice, and absolutely everything else we have had there has been delicious.
    • Is that the right link, Ianr ? If so, I don't understand?
