This is the Club Joker, the top specification that Westfalia made at the time. It?s a factory campervan and sleeps 4 adults, 2 up in the hightop, 2 down on the rock-and-roll bed.

It?s a LHD and with power steering is a wonderful drive, easy to maneuver and park. In addition to the usual Westfalia interior it benefits from factory fitted super comfy ISRI captains seats (re-upholstered using original Club Joker material ) and double glazed windows.

The powerful 2.1 injection petrol engine gives good acceleration (flat 4 boxer engine is the most powerful one VW fitted). Makes keeping up with any traffic effortless, and no need to fear hills! Also these vans have a very tight turning circle.

Under slung LPG gas (original specification recently refurbished and certified). This runs the fridge, hobs and you can connect your gas BBQ as well. Can be filled from most petrol stations selling LPG, and at approx.. 59 pence per litre is very cheap.

Trips aside it?s been our day-to-day family vehicle. Increasing family size sadly forces sale.

EXTERIOR AND MECHANICAL

The bodywork is very good for a van approaching 30 years old, but does have some dents and dings, and the paintwork has been touched up over the years but looks mostly original.

Factory fitted power assisted steering with poly bush rack mounts (for stability on motorways; ease of parking). Powered by 2.1 Litre fuel injected Petrol engine (112 BHP). This is the most powerful engine VW fitted to these vans and provides plenty of acceleration even up hills.

External underbody 8kg LPG tank with Eis-ex (gas preheater for extreme cold temperature use) and 3 tap control. This has been sand-blasted, painted, tested and re-certified for 10 yrs by a TUV inspector (certificate provided). This powers the cooker and the fridge when off grid. The tank can be re-filled using Autogas at any LPG retailer or filling station. 9kg of gas will last a long time!

Front three piece spoiler.

Square headlight grill with double headlights. Halogen headlights. Fog lights.

Front blue tinted windscreen in laminated safety glass. The rubber seal around the window at the front of the roof was recently replaced by previous owners; they also replaced windscreen with a blue tinted screen, using a genuine screen rubber as the original screen had a small crack.

Intermittent windscreen wipers. Opening quarter light windows for driver and passenger.

Dual circuit and handbrake warning light.

Previous owners fitted new -40mm Eibach pro springs all round with Bilstein B4 dampers up front, this gives the van a comfy ride.

5 1/2 J x 14 Steel wheels. Steel belt tyres 185 R 14 C.

Undercarriage in good condition for a vehicle this age.

INTERIOR

Van interior is all in very good condition and has great layout for comfortable van living. All furniture is five sheet laminated and 15 mm thick plywood with a light grey PVC coating and dark grey PVC edging. The upholstery with red / black stripes on a grey base material.

It has Isringhausen (ISRI) highback comfort seats with adjustable armrests and cloth storage pockets at rear in Club Joker upholstery. Drivers and passenger door pockets.

The front seats were professionally reupholstered by previous owners using genuine original material, and look great.

Two headrests on rear seat, also recovered with original Club Joker material.

Seat belts for two people on rear seat. 1x new inertia type belt from Brickwerks 1x lap belt. We have fitted a removable jump seat with 1x lap belt (see below). So van safely seats 5 passengers.

Swivelling driver and passenger seats (note: passenger seat only swivels if jump seat removed).

Van also comes with:

Rotating table (80 cm x 40 cm) on metal arm for rear living area.

- Sleeping Areas: Comfortable double bed (188 cm x 120 cm) when rock-and-roll bed folded down (including cushion renewed 3 years ago with fireproof foam) over engine bay. Roof bed which folds out of the way for greater headroom during the day. Twin opening Fiamma type vents in fibreglass roof (replaced three years ago) including integrated mosquito nets.

- Fridge: 42 litre fridge working from 12v, 220v and gas. Fully working. The fridge flue and vent have been replaced with new items from Gunzl.

- Windows and Curtains: Five tinted and double glazed windows in rear living area. The window above the cooker opens, plus 2 x opening skylights. So it?s lovely and light and has a spacious feel. Curtains all round (so full set of original curtains in good condition). The curtain for the front windscreen is clipped on when required.

- Kitchen: Combination cupboard 87 cm wide x 45 cm deep on the left behind the drivers seat with sink with electrically pumped water, two flame cooker with splash plate. The splash plate folds down and can be used to drain dishes after washing. Also the unit has a cutlery draw, a large cupboard for tableware and the fridge. Storage rail above kitchen. Diode control display system on the kitchen unit showing fresh water tank level, leisure battery charge level, indicator when fridge is running on gas and Eis-ex switch and LED indicator to show when Eis-ex is switched on (LPG preheater for use in extreme cold conditions).

- Insulation: Insulated on all inner bodywork in the living area with 25 mm thick mineral fibre plates. Floor area has a plywood sheet with PVC covering. Over the engine bay there is an insulating noise absorbing mat. The side walls and roof panels are made from lined wood panels. It is warm and quite inside, ensuring a good nights sleep.

- Electrical: 220 Volt external hook up with internal outlet socket and safety trip cut out (hook up cable included). 63 Ah Leisure battery with split charge relay and automatic battery volt charger.71 Ah Starter battery. Three transistor (strip) lights 12 volts and 2x reading lights in hightop beds.

- Freshwater and Waste water: 55 Litre freshwater tank with electric pump and lockable cap. 20 Litre waste water tank under the vehicle. Sink with electric tap

- Heating: Thermostatically controlled Eberspacher B2L night heater. Not currently functioning. Eberspacher heater timer control with digital display.

- Storage: van comes with loads of storage - Roof locker cupboard above rear seat with shelf accessible from rear tailgate area. Wardrobe and small cupboard rear left over the engine bay. Mirror on the back of wardrobe door. Hanger rail inside. Storage unit along the side with 3 stowage areas. Plus kitchen storage (as above).

- Cab and carpets: Dashboard and steering wheel in black. Cab area door trim in grey. Lockable glove box lid. Passenger sun visor equipped with make up mirror with light. 90 amp alternator. 12 Volt accessory socket in dashboard. Speedometer with re-settable mileage trip, rev counter and digital clock. Carpet inside covering front wheel arches. Brand new full set of interior mats from megavanmats ltd.

- Locks: All locks are working from a single key(also 2 spares). Key for petrol cap and water cap including spares. Child lock on sliding door.

- Audio: Pioneer DEH - P75BT CD/Radio with iPhone compatibility via Bluetooth and handsfree mic. Playback through original Blaupunkt speakers fitted in original locations.

SERVICING, HISTORY and MOT

Van comes with previous service receipts going right back to when imported from Germany in 2004.

In past 12 months we have paid for following work to be carried out:

- New power steering cable fitted

- Handbrake recalibrated;

- New jump seat and lap belt fitted;

- New starter motor fitted; done by The AA in May 2017 who advised that engine is in great condition.

All issues and advisories from MOT May 2017 addressed:

- Brake pipe excessively corroded front to rear

- Nearside Front Brake hose bulging under pressure

- Nearside Rear Brake hose ferrule excessively corroded

- Nearside Rear Coil spring not correctly located

- Advisory notice item(s): Front brake pipes on calapiers rusty; Offside Rear driveshaft gaiter split

MOT is 12 months to 6 May 2018 ? All issues and advisories have been carried out (as above).
