Childcare space available 3/4 days from July/Sep.

Recommended Posts

I am an Ofsted registered childminder with a 3/4 day space available Mon-Thurs from July. I also have a space becoming available for September. Both spaces are due to little ones moving on to nursery and school.

I have worked in Dulwich for 11 years childminding with local families.I have a spacious house just by the park on St Aidan's rd, we use the open plan downstairs for minding and we have a lovely back garden for the children to enjoy. I was rated good with outstanding features on my inspection last year.we go out every day to groups in the local area and take advantage of the beautiful open spaces and parks and of course the lovely Hornimans. Please get in touch by pm and we can arrange a chat.

Lorna is amazing

She has the space because our son is moving on to nursery having been with her since he was 7 months old but it is now time for nursery. When we first met her our son liked to make a lot of noise. Lorna's first observation was 'oh he likes to sing' - that's so different than others who had said 'oh he likes to make noise' ... and he's been singing with her ever since.

Lorna has been nothing short of amazing. She is loving, kind, playful, observant, flexible, communicative, straightforward - everything you could want. She's all of these things for parents just as much as she is for the children. Our son has flourished under Lorna's care. He runs to her door every day and gives her a big hug when she opens the door. We can tell he feels very safe, very secure and he has some great friends.

She's flexible and accommodating - Our son wears cloth nappies - not a problem; another child (his best friend) is a vegetarian and again no problem. She's partnered with us when he was weaning and now that we are trying (and trying) potty training.

Lorna offers advice and guidance gently and when asked - but not when not.

On a day to day basis Lorna offers an excellent mix of the small scale of a childminder (giving our son one key person to whom he is very attached and feels very comfortable) with larger group and socialisation through daily morning groups with other children. They have picnics and parties and swimming and ...

I can not recommend her highly enough.

    • I had no idea about the sourcing of the paving stones - where is the info on this? The extension of the paved area seems completely unjustified- plus, there is a cycle lane right thru the middle so there are bound to be some near misses with pedestrians.
    • That's really awful. There must be someone further up the management chain who could be made aware of this?
    • I'm assuming that anybody who has a cat can afford  its food, litter, vets' fees etc. Nobody was saying that two quid is "nothing", but it's cheaper than some brands of cat litter, so was hopefully useful to the OP. Still, hopefully your post made you feel better 👍 🤣 We still don't know why there was a bag of cat litter at the bus stop! Surely it would be rather difficult to take it away unnoticed if the owner of the cat litter was  also at the bus stop? It's not like someone distracted your attention and picked your pocket and you didn't notice till some time later! But what is also confusing me is, if the OP knows where the thief lives, why don't they go and ask for their cat litter back?
    • The market is only there for a few hours on Saturdays! Surely all street markets are "a bit tatty"! That seems a strange reason to close a road permanently to traffic!  There is already at least one seat  in North Cross Road (which seems to be quite well used),  apart from those for customers of The Palmerston,  and several of the shops in the road have greenery outside
