Back to Wood floor restoration

Recommended Posts

A massive recommendation for Steve and Nichola who did a fantastic job restoring our floors. They previously were discoloured / covered in blotches of paint after years of neglect but they did an amazing job making them look brand new. Did a great job cleaning up after themselves as well and worked very quickly. Definitely worth the money we paid.

No link with them whatsoever, just a very happy customer (we got their details through searching on here).

Would say that they get booked up in advance (they only came last week and that was their first available week when we spoke to them in Feb) so get in touch with them if you're looking to get your floors done.

Adding to this recommendation for Steve and Nicola at back to wood. They are absolutely brilliant at their job, and are a pleasure to have in the house. They fitted us in at short notice to sand down our ancient, battered floor boards in our kids' bedrooms. They were really helpful with choosing finishes and the transformation is amazing. They are very considerate and left everything clean and tidy. They are coming back soon to sand the rest of the floors. Give them a call, you won't regret it!!

I would also like to recommend Back to Wood. They did an excellent job of sanding and sealing a large kitchen/breakfast room oak floor and a bedroom floor with original pine floor boards. They carried out the first while we were away on holiday and took due care of everything. I can endorse all that is written about them in the above posts.
Hi. We've used Steve and Nicola a couple of times before and they've been brilliant. Last week, we contacted them about a large old Georgian floor board in another part of the house that had split. Steve popped round today, whipped up the floor board, glued and braced it, then replaced it and checked and re-secured some of the creaking floorboards around it - and then refused to take any money from us. Once again, we think they're great.
Steve and Nicola restored our Victorian terrace hall floor in August and did a wonderful job. We are so pleased with it. I booked them back in April purely on the basis of the reviews here and Steve's quotation. The floor was very tired, unstained pine and they restored (filling the many gaps with resin then sanding) and stained it. It now looks really smart without being out of whack with the rest of the house (which is not particularly smart!). They were really great to work with and left the house looking as if nobody had been there. Would definitely recommend them and if anything else crops up in our house that is in their line of work we will be giving them a call. Thank you!

Another recommendation for Steve and Nicola. They have just restored two bedroom floors back to the original floorboards in our house, and now they look amazing. Very impressed with the result given the state of the floors beforehand. They were both very friendly and accommodating. We are really pleased with the final result and would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of having similar works done.

    • Thank you both. Inexperience Landlord trying to save  a few pennies - hence no agent involved. The issue is the fact that it is my understanding that without an EPC that is current then they should not have rented the property - far  more to the point and taken rent from me. They commissioned an EPC 4 weeks & I am still waiting for or a copy!!! No gas in property. Well I guess it will be a case of instructing solicitors which I have tried to avoid doing but as they are not responding at all, I have no choice. If I am correct about EPC then it will cost them alot more than refunding me my rent.
    • Went there a couple of weeks ago and had their set lunch menu - very good value and generous portions. Sea bream was delicious .
    • Some years ago, one of our dogs ate something dropped by rubbish bins outside a local café and haemorrhaged. Rushed to emergency vet in Streatham, who suggested that someone, worried about rats getting into rubbish bins may have put down poison. Our dog died the next day. Consequently, any dog we had afterwards wore a muzzle to stop them picking up food.
    • They have been awful for years. I moved ages ago.
