Recycling problem

Hello everyone

I have a huge mass of plastic bags that I need to recycle. There's no spot for plastic bags at Sainsburys recycle station. Does anyone know of the nearest place I can take them for recycling? I tried online but it's been harder than I thought to find somewhere.

There are containers for recycling plastic bags inside sainsburys itself. They're by the exit doors.

There are craft people, who actually make crochet bags out of used bags.They are strong and very colourful.

They make them in African countries where they sell them.

they have made them in the U.S.A for ages.

You could use them as bin liners. I, like lots of people, have not bought bin bags for ages and just use any carrier that comes my way.

Nice one folks, thanks for the help. I'll take them up to Sainsburys and see if I can see where they should go. I'd love to use them as bin liners but only ones from Iceland are big enough.

Check Southwark's website too. Pretty sure you can recycle thin supermarket bags in your blue box, although don't think you can with thicker, standard plastic bags.

Seems that, like Nero, using my plastic bags as bin bags was the right thing all along.

All those nasty cotton bag types need to make sure they're getting at least 350 uses out of them!!
