carrieon23
Hi. I guess it's very individual but whats peoples experience with dropping the afternoon nap? At what age did you do it? My 2 y 1m old is getting increasingly difficult to get to bed at night but thought he still needed his nap. It's just been this last week he has gone from bottle & story and then singing himself to sleep to screaming for up to an hour. I don't know what to do as it's been such a quick change and I hate to see him go to bed so upset. Any toddler settling tricks also appreciated! I was about to take the side off his cotbed but guess I will have to delay it a bit as there's no way he will stay in bed now. Thanks. Polly D
Poor you. We are going through similar dilemmas. There was a thread not long ago about this, hope it might help:http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,599811 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15360-sleep-issues-help/#findComment-402654 Share on other sites
randomv
My LO went from 1.5 hours to nothing (most days) pretty much overnight at 2 years 2 months. It may be that just shortening the nap will do the trick, for now, but if you do need to cut it out altogether you might need to put him to bed a bit earlier than normal for a bit so he doesn't get too overtired.
