Hmmm. It is a tricky one.

On the one hand: It is imperative that many many Christmas parties are had every year and that they all have re-used bunting, free sandwiches and paper hats. One must attend as many as possible and fall asleep on trains wearing your paper hat. It is that wonderful time of year where we get to witness embarrassing behavior from colleagues who otherwise ?don?t really drink that much?. And let?s face it, who doesn?t enjoy a bit of inappropriate nudity or a punch-up involving Margaret in accounts and Neville from the post room?

On the other hand: You don?t want to have all those other celebrations leading up to Christmas to be belittled. Let us not forget glorious cause for celebration which we are privileged to have once a week known as Friday.

It is never too early to plan a christmas bash as people tend to book places very early anyway!

I am a christmas baby ( I turn 30 in December..wooo flirty thirties!) so maybe that is why I am like a kid waiting for chrismas!)

and on fridays at the locals no mistletoe is provided nor any sequins so it doesnt count does it??

    • These neighbours dislike trees period. They refused to have lost trees replaced by the Estate on our communal green. They don’t like the leaf and seed droppings. These make the grass look ‘messy’. Similarly, they don’t like my policy of leaving the tree leaves where they lie on the grass verge - hence chopping the overhanging branches. It’s like living in the 1950s. My neighbours have three gardeners with leaf blowers who come twice weekly to remove every leaf from their front lawns. Their grass is cut weekly and all the  cuttings put in multiple brown bins. It’s an outdated mindset of the moneyed classes in my view. But sadly, I’m very much in the minority.
