Sally Eva
This is one of the "Plus" rides which last 90 minutes longer and go a bit further. And (mirabile dictu) the rain is supposed to have stopped by then. The ride starts from outside Canada Water Library (SE16 7AR) and finishes in the same place at 1pm. It's a circular ride to Battersea Park going out along Thames path, and then back along a slightly inland route. Outward route to Blackfriars Bridge, passing the new extension to Tate Modern. Then along part of the East-West Cycle Superhighway and on eventually to Chelsea Bridge. We cross this to get to the coffee stop at excellent La Gondola Cafe in Battersea Park where the pastries are very good. Then back along south side of river including the interesting loop up and through Waterloo Station. Plenty to see on the route - Borough Market, Tate Modern, and the London Eye. Route at http://goo.gl/6cFvhG. Leader Philippa.
